Horn based loudspeakers why the controversy?
The most realistic sonic presentation of an orchestral piece I’ve ever heard came from a really good movie theatre system employing horns.  Eyes closed it was astonishingly like listening to a full orchestra!

fleschler,Good points. On one hand I think someone who truly has reached a level of expertise and who has contributed to our knowledge - for instance about audio - deserves recognition and respect. On the other hand, as you mention, the expert’s aim...

Ok, cool, thanks fleschler.  Peace out.

elizabeth,My sentiments are in hearty agreement with yours! There’s a limit to how much energy I’d want to put into just being able to listen to music, and dialing endless audiophile tweaks sounds like drudgery. Especially the keep tuning, tuming,...

Re geoff’s comments on my isolation project,The project he refers to is one I’d made a thread detailing .The building of the isolation base was occasioned by trying to add re-enforcement and isolation to a flimsy older Lovan rack, to accommodate m...

Geoff,I’ll try once more to elicit content from you:You claimed my attempt at vibration isolation went awry. How?C’mon, show you can do better than Michael Green and support your claim. :)

How did my attempt at vibration isolation “go awry?”

^^^^^ Wise words from B Russel.Doubt is an essential part of both critical thinking and open mindedness.   You have to be able to at least entertain doubt about your own position in order to alter it when better information comes olong.   That’s w...

@fleschlerWell I’m glad to see you put the effort into cross posting your castigation of me. One can perhaps admire your thoroughness!I wonder, though: What do you think about this thread that starts by calling out cable skeptics as dogmatic or de...

Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers
@kevinkwannYou’ve been quite generous about sharing your experiences with various other loudspeakers and systems. Why won’t you do the same with the Magico system? I am doing the same with Magico. Do you see associated equipment in any of the spea...
Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers
@kevinkwann Of course I’ve given consideration to the variables involved in auditioning speakers. That is why I mentioned that caveat right at the start in my OP.When you say I gave no consideration in my Magico post to the fact it was a single aud...

jf47t,Posting the OP yet again!I wonder what you think you possibly gain by reposting the OP like a brainwashed bot who can only Praise The Guru and mindlessly repeat His Words? That MG is apparently looking over your shoulder on all this stuff sp...

So let's recount for a moment, in case anyone has forgotten:Someone starts a thread talking about empiricism vs theory, criticizing "talking" vs walking. Then at some point he starts making claims - "talking" - about things like capacitors changing...

rvpiano,Well, I have to say our assessment of Teo’s post(s) are pretty much at odds. You mention three words that pretty much what come to my mind when I read it. ;-)I can see why you may like it; it’s a diss of people who claim not to hear differ...
