For Magnepans try the "Rooze" comfiguration This is the first time I wish I had my Maggie 1.6 since I sold them a few years back.Yes indeed Rooze is thinking outside the box...
Best used speaker under $1000 for tube low watter I recommend Audio Note speakers as they are designed to be placed in the corners and are usually 94 db efficent. I have the model E and really love them with my 18 wpc Audio Note amp.
VTL 450 or Parasound JC-1 Have bit heard either amp but in my experience tubes and solid state always sound like tubes and solid state no matter how good so purchase accordingly if you can not listen to them.
What's The Best Blooming Tube Amp? My Audio Note Soro SE is pretty darn neutral and still full of bloom. I do not know how they do it and I do not care :)
Goertz Bi-wire or something else If you like the Goertz to begin with, I think it is a hell of a cable and would bi wire it myself. You have to spend quite a bit to get appreciably better IMO. Goertz is one of the cables I wished I had kept as it had better tone and presence than...
Favorite Movie Soundtrack MarcoI see I totally misread your post, I must have been sleepy. It is interesting that you photographed her. You just never know who is going to catch on in Hollywood, I imagine she was too far offbeat for most :)Phil
Favorite Movie Soundtrack Jax2, Anne Carlisle was in Garden State? I will have to watch it again. She was quite attractive when Liquid Sky was made, it is an old favorite of mine that I watched about 1 year ago. She seemed to really enjoy her dual role in Liquid Sky. The m...
Pass X250.5 or Plinius SA 250 After hearing my Plinius SA100 MKIII and a friends Pass X150 many times (in seperate systems) with lots of different gear my impression is that the Pass is more neutral with a more open sound and greater air though I would suspect some may find it...
Any Audiophile recording of The Planets? Either TAS or Stereophile did an article on this about 1 or 2 years ago. They picked the best Planets CD based on sound and performance. I will report back (after work) when I locate it. BTW I could not find what they recommended locally but worth...
Were to go after a Rega Planet 2000? FWIW my Muse CD player trounced the Sony SACD player. Have also read terrific things about the Quad CDP and almost bought one myself but it did not have DVD so I got Muse which is neck and neck with a $5500 Electrocompaniet.
Were to go after a Rega Planet 2000? BTW I went from the Sony DVP 9000 ES to Muse model 9 gen 3 and am so happy. It is an extremely musical player, neutral and sonicly rich at the same time. You could also try Meridian 508/20 for about $1000.
Were to go after a Rega Planet 2000? I moved from a Planet 2000 to a Sony DVP 9000 and preferred the Planet 2000, but the Sony could play DVD so I kept it. I think the Planet was warmer and more musical where the sony sounded more like typical HI FI to me.
Best Speaker Placement Rules you've used? I agree with the Cardas method which is where I put my speakers and did not even think about moving them after that, but do not have the link. Someone put the link in an old speaker post of mine about Maggie 1.6 speaker placement if you can find i...
Anybody know World-Jazz Joseph Zawinal (founder of Weather Report) is my favorite jazz artist that has some of what you are looking for, a world beat or sound. Dialects or World Tour (I think is the name) may be good to start with. Jon Hassell is very good as well, he ha...
Speakercable w vg definiton of drumssounds. Of course it depends on what your system is but I find my Audio Note Lexus speaker cable to have superb definition and especially realistic tone and weight in the critical bass/upper bass regions. |
