I can't taste my beer...or hear my cables
the LAT cables I heard were not especially good. Middle of the road type stuff, I believe the Kimber could equal it in some systems and the results could be totally different in a different system.I have found system synergy to be of great importa...
Who's got the best user name?
Wellfed evokes an image... that probably should have been mine :^)BTW I hate mine as it is my name and is butchered on a regular basis because it is not clear.
What's wrong with this system?
I suggest dedicated lines first and then see what you have, wait at least a month before you change anything after installing the new lines.A tube amp can be very neutral. My Audio Note Soro is the most neutral amp I have ever owned and it is supe...
Help. A box beats my Maggie
compared to the Plinius the Innersound is lighter in the midrange tone, more open, detailed and defined, with similar quality bass though different and less 'thick'(which was the best part of the amp to me). In short the Innersound was brighter wi...
Help. A box beats my Maggie
This post is further proof that system matching plays a big role. I used to own Plinius 8200 MKII integrated with my Maggies and liked the combo but felt it was under powered and eventually I sold the Maggies because I could not afford an amp that...
Amp help for the Maggies?
An Innersound ESL amp will cost about $1000 or so and is designed to play into low impedance loads. It sounded terrific with my Maggies and was very open and defined and had plenty of power to whip them Maggies like a rag doll! Of all the amps I t...

Need to tame bass
I recently ran dedicated lines to my stereo and could not believe the amount of improvement especially at cleaning up the bass and upper bass. By clean up I mean a fair amount of grunge was removed and what remained was articulate and clean bass. ...
I'm a little stumped
I owned 1.6 Maggies for about a year and a half and during that time I came to the conclusion the QR tweeter has too much output and has to be tamed. When set up properly with the right equipment the speaker is terrific. Things like ficus trees be...
Looking for colored sound. . . I think.
Break it in at least 1 month and report back - if you have not done this already.
good match for Atma-Sphere M60
I believe JM Reynauds Trentes or Offrandes will hold its own against any of the above. Extremely musical and involving speakers

Anyone think direct tv music channels sound good?
FWIW I think the jazz channel is better than Dish network or what I have heard on Sirius, as it seems you have heard for yourself...
Anyone think direct tv music channels sound good?
straight from my cheap Phillips Direct TV receiver it sounds pretty bad, all the ormal digital stuff, grainy and constricted and thin...My tuner, CD player and turntable all easily beat it.
