Which Audio Research gears are classics? I have listened to the SP6 and SP8 pre amps and prefer both in their original models, the B versions are bright. Also the SP11 is very highly regarded. And of course the D79 and D150 are probably the most famous and musical of all their amps.
Why am I experiencing listener's fatigue? I think Cardas wire is boring to listen to and might lead to fatigue. Also I am not the biggest fan of the B&W sound, I think they can be dry and wooden, not the most expressive speaker. How are the tubes in the Manley? I really love the Sting...
Your "DREAM" piece Walker turntable for me!yessireebob no doubt...
Signal Cable -- High End Generic? Is that the 6 guage stranded copper (19 strands) Home Depot wire the Bound for Sound recommends? If so how is it?I have to believe the Signal cable would trounce the Monster wire and probably the MIT too so worth a shot.
Does your system have jump? Some systems can not jump no matter what. A typical stereo is washed out in comparison to the real thing having only a fraction of the dynamic range found in live music. To me this is what is meant by jump. It is hard to find the proper words to d...
How Long Did it Take to Burn In a new piece? My Audio Note kit 2 speakers are just finishing breaking in after about 10 weeks or so. They sometimes did not sound very good at all during the first few weeks. They started out bright and then had too much bass but now sound balanced and very mu...
Silver vs. Cooper speakers cables It all depends on the cable. Both silver or copper can be lousy or great it depends on who made them and what system they are in period.
Does your system have jump? Audio Note speakers which are designed to sit in the corners and the dynamics are terrific. This is what I have been looking for all along...
If Audio bug never hit you, what hobby might have? It's almost the same thing but a HUGE TV as film is my second passion, maybe first depending on the day.Ray, don't give us printers a bad name now, I can not find any women slow enough for me anyway......:^)
BAT to BAT - What's Best? I think with the quality of amplification you have you should at least buy something like AZ silver ref or Audience AU24 or (what I use) Audio Note AN-V. All three of these cables offer terrific bang for the buck. If you are not using at least thi...
Can DK design MKII drive the Magenapan MG1.6 well? Maggies like lots of current. If the power rating (watts) of the DK doubles from 8 to 4 OHM this would suggest it would do well with Maggies in general.I used to own 1.6s and drove them with a Plinius SA 100 MKIII amp that had 100 watts and it dro...
BEST match for B&W Natilus 802s I agree Rowland and Musical Fidlity sound great with B&W, Classe, BAT, Levinson were not so great. I know others that disagree about the Classe but to me it was not refined like the MF and Rowland but more of a bold sound.
Best Integrated Amp, Price no obstacle? thanks Panderso for the correction. I read the post quickly before work and gave my 2 cents in a hurry.
Best Integrated Amp, Price no obstacle? The Musical Fidelity VK500 is damn good with 500 watts and phono to boot. It has a few small tubes in the pre amp section and is otherwise SS. I have heard the Rowland Concentra II and it is a little grainy and romantic in comparison. The Levinson... |
