Pass Int-150 or Int-30A for PMC Speakers? Kzhtoo, How would you describe the sonic difference between your Pass combo and the Hegel?
My new Soundsmith Straingauge cartridge Steve, English is not Raul's native language. Spiritofmusic, Is your dealer planing to set up the cartridge before it has broken-in or is he simply going to install it with proper alignment? I would think that he would wait some time for the suspe...
Wilson Alexia - what's the competition Audioconnection, Do you mean Transparent cables are laid back and dark sounding in an absolute sense or in a given system context? In my system, I actually found that Transparent Cables sounded more neutral than either Harmonic Technology (a bit la...
Neutral or warm? Which do you prefer? On a good recording, if the performance sounds "accurate and natural", I find it usually means that the system has a "neutral" tonal balance, that is, it does not emphasize one frequency over another.
HD Down Load compared to Analog. "...that means 88 KHZ/24 Bit or nothing." Or analog.
Aluminum Foil test for Audio Desk Vinyl Cleaner Benjie, I don't doubt your results. It is certainly possible that the ultra sonic agitation loosens debris in the grooves better than the solutions and vacuum. My comparison was very brief which is why I want to do a more careful one between the t...
Aluminum Foil test for Audio Desk Vinyl Cleaner Emailists, My process takes 20-25 minutes per side because I do the following:1. AIVS #15 - 5 min.2. AIVS Enzyme - 5 min.3. AIVS Cleaner - 5 min.4. AIVS pure water rinse - 2 min.5. AIVS second water rinse - 2 min.6. ZeroStat zap - 1 min.7. Handhel...
Neutral or warm? Which do you prefer? I wonder if you will get a different kind of response if you mention the two speakers.I presume by the two terms "neutral" and "warm" you refer to tonal balance. If that is the case, I prefer a neutral tonal balance that does not emphasis particul...
Aluminum Foil test for Audio Desk Vinyl Cleaner Benjie, Could you describe the difference in sound between an LP cleaned with the Audio Desk and one cleaned with the Loricraft and AIVS?I did this comparison only once with a friend's new Audio Desk on one of my LPs. It was cleaned on each machin...
Aluminum Foil test for Audio Desk Vinyl Cleaner Pbnaudio,Can't argue with the convenience of the Audio Desk. It is superb. However, does it actually do a better job at cleaning than a nozzle type machine like the Keith Monks or Loricraft when those are used with a four step solution like he AIV...
Lyra Titan i - in focus? I was able to get all the movement I needed within the existing mounting holes. My rough guess is that I rotated the cartridge about it's zenith axis perhaps one (1) degree or 0.2 mm at it's rear edge. It's hard to say, but I rotated it as far as ...
Lyra Titan i - in focus? Very slightly forward on the V and very slightly back in the V-12. But perhaps more importantly, it showed at the null points that the cantilever was not quite tangent to the groove, so I had to twist the cartridge in the headshell and it made a r...
Lyra Titan i - in focus? O-holter, What alignment protractor are you using? I used to own an SME V and now have the SME V-12. In each case, I had a Mint LP protractor made for my specific arm/cartridge combination and found that it does improve alignment over the standard...
My new Soundsmith Straingauge cartridge My understanding is that the SG has a very slight deviation from the RIAA curve. IF that is the case, then I would think you would hear a different tonal balance, ie less flat or certain frequencies being slightly more emphasized than others. But ...
What's the weak link in my Analog chain? For no cost you could start with confirming cartridge loading and gain and alignment. I agree that proper isolation is always good. Beyond that, I'm not really familiar with your components. |
