Why will no other turntable beat the EMT 927?
Mosin, How about defining a "neutral" component as one which has "no discernable character of its own". In other words, one that does not add or subtract a sonic signature to the music. This may be impossible to achieve, but I do think it is a rea...
New AMG tt just arrived.
Congratulations on the new cartridge. I have the Supreme in an SME V-12. It is a superb cartridge. Just as you write, great detail, super fast, wonderful bass. I would add that it is very natural sounding and tonally neutral. Really great looking ...
Why will no other turntable beat the EMT 927?
Dkarmeli, I'm curious about your analogy regarding the face to face conversation and how it is better in every way than the same conversation over Skype, telephone etc. I agree with this. But you completely lose me when you then write that these r...

Dkarmeli,Have you heard the new TechDas Airforce One? If so, how would you say it compares to your favorite tabels?
VPI 3D tonearm
I can't speak to the VPI 3D arm, but regarding the counterweight issue, I agree with Stringreen. At least on my 12" SME arm, the counterweight is very heavy and is as close to the pivot as is possible with the design. My AirTight Supreme cartridge...
Waaaah. Snapped off my cantilever.
So, are you writing that the OP's Dynavector will sound better, cost less and be repaired quicker if he sends it to Soundsmith rather then sending it to Dynavector? If so, that would certainly be worth considering. What are the comparable costs an...
Lyra Atlas compared to Lyra Titan i
So you are writing that to get an Olympos, one must buy a used Parnassus somewhere, somehow, extract the magnets and then send them to Lyra and wait for a new (with used magnets) Olympos to be built. OK, I sit corrected: The Olympos is still avail...
Is The Overall Weight Of A Speaker Important?
I agree that it has a lot, or everything to do with controlling cabinet resonances. Imagine what a Magico aluminum sub would weigh. I don't think they have any plans of making one.
Lyra Atlas compared to Lyra Titan i
Yes, the Olympos may be the one for you, but it is no longer available. I read somewhere that J Carr thinks the Atlas is his best cartridge to date.
Waaaah. Snapped off my cantilever.
Can you send it back to Dynavector through your dealer or distributor? I'm just wondering why the recommendations I read are always for Soundsmith and other services rather than the original manufacturer. Is it based on cost and repair time?
Aleph 3 - Its 2013, are they still awesome ?
I have not heard the Aleph L. I did have a later model Aleph P with remote and then upgraded that to the X-1. My current XP-20 seems to combine and improve upon the basic character of these two pre amps: the rich, natural timbre and tonal balance ...
Wish List For Vinyl Pressings
Why not create a list and then vote from that list. I suggest another thread for this project. Entrees for the list could come from this thread.
Aleph 3 - Its 2013, are they still awesome ?
I had the Aleph 2 mono blocks and loved them. I did prefer them to the Aleph 3 and Aleph 5. I do write a little about these amps in my review of the XA100.5. For the current used price, if you can find a pair of Aleph 2s, they are a great value.
Raidho D1/C1.1 vs Dynaudio C1 vs Magico Q1
I know this is not on your list, but if you are in the Pacific Northwest, why not try Evolution Acoustics? They have some smaller speakers in that price range. Those are difficult to hear on the East Coast, but should be fairly easy up there.

David Brubeck: "Late Night Brubeck"Ray Brown: "Live at Loa"? or something like that.
