Do you really use the formula for speaker placement? @millercarbon That's right. You start with the left speaker and find where the bass sounds the best. I did it with the right speaker unplugged. My surprise (shouldn't have been) was that there was a place because of the dimensions of the room wher...
Who puts their speakers right up against the back wall and why? The venerable Bose 901s.Otherwise, room constraints often keep the speakers too close to the walls. If only we all had man/woman caves.
Any RME ADI-2 DAC FS owners here? BTW, the RME DAC is fabulous. Although I've not run it head-to-head with a much more expensive DAC.
Any RME ADI-2 DAC FS owners here? The myriad of options is a blessing and a curse. How do you prefer your Q? How about the QA? Sharp or NOS? WTF? I would love to find some user groups that discuss the effect of the parameters on the audio. Some parameters seem to make little diffe...
Do you really use the formula for speaker placement? @millercarbon The youtube setup had the speakers equidistant. Frankly, it never occurred to me before the Sumiko Method that speakers would be anything other than equidistant from the listener--the normal equilateral triangle rule. And the youtube...
Do you really use the formula for speaker placement? Thanks for all of your input. I first watched and went by the advice provided in the Youtube video. It was a different approach in that it asked you to start with the speakers literally next to you and move them to the wall. The wisdom is that the...
Do you really use the formula for speaker placement? thanks for all of your suggestions. As I imagined, I learned some new tricks, regardless of how many articles I've read and YouTubes I watched. I saw the Youtube mentioned above, rearranged my speakers, and definitely got some better results out o...
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry? Let your ears be your guides. Of course, the only problem with that is that you can't buy 20 cables and switch them out to find the ones you like.
DIY "HiFi" cables - and why I don't trust BJC and the likes Listen to the cables. They do sound different. The problem is there are so many and you can’t test them side by side. So you read reviews and take a stab in the dark. You might do that 3 or 12 times. And you still wonder if there’s a better altern...
Are these Speakers the BEST on Planet Earth ?... Only your ears will tell you if these speakers sound better than every other speaker on earth.
Should people who can't solder, build or test their speakers be considered audiophiles? I assume this question, like all of the others that include the phrase, "can you be considered an audiophile if," is just meant to poke the tiger to get a response. It certainly got a response!
Good Entry-Level DAC +1 for Rme adi-2 Fs
Pass labs x250.8 stereo amp in San Diego? @ebm hi. I’ve traded about 5 emails with Mark. He’s fine. Keep trying.
Pass labs x250.8 stereo amp in San Diego? Thanks, everyone. Looks like no one in the San Diego area has a Pass Labs x250.8 to share. I talked to Mark at Reno Hifi. Good guy. The return fee is about $1000. In other words, I basically can't return it. From everything I read, I can only imag...
