A phenomenal new CD transport-Pro-Ject CD Box RS2 transport For that price I'd expect something better than the toggle switch on the front that looks like a reject from some old fashioned spare parts bin.
Which speaker among Dali, Dynaudio and Acoustic Energy should I choose? I love my DALI Zensors that are driven by D-Class amplifiers, but then I've upgraded the crossovers with Mundorf capacitors and replaced the elementary wadding that doesn't even cover all surfaces with Mundorf Twaron Angel Hair Filling.I'm not eve...
Has Anyone Ever Run TWO Identical Pairs of Speakers ? Has Anyone Ever Run TWO Identical Pairs of Speakers ? Don't listen to the negative comments, as it ain't necessarily so.Sometime ago I tested mine by disconnecting the enclosure on one side and connecting it in parallel to the one on the other ...
Biggest audio hoaxes 05-17-2021 11:30pmThe Beatles and the "Paul is Dead" hoax!Maybe if they were talking about his creativity...I hate to be rude but his creativity is best described as an expletive! It's amazing how the other three managed to make this stuff sound ...
Where are the young audiophiles? teo_audio1,850 posts05-12-2021 9:06amblame it on digital. I do. Digital is awesome. Blame it on Apple.
So done with audiophile fuses Let's get this straight. Pure and simple; a fuse is there to stop drawing more current that is desirable. How can a fuse ever be better than the wire into the holder and and the wire out? It's a physical impossibility and it's all in the mind y'kno...
Do Banana Plug Adaptors Degrade SQ? This seems to be what you'd like, but I can't discover how it was achieved.http://audioklassiks.de/wordpress/?p=2303If you aren't comfortable soldering and opening equipment it might not be possible. Removing speakers to access the inside of a cab...
Ground Wire Perhaps the most important consideration is not to create a grounding loop. In that regard every piece of equipment should be connected to a central point.Sometimes it can be excessive hard when using RCA as the shield serves two purposes: the sec...
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point? Because the answers beget more questions, and the subject is infinite....silly boy....;) I'll assume that's not a scientific answer, so I hope you'll forgive me if I ignore it.
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point? Terrific post ghdprentice. The Anthem AVM 60 Preamp Processor is a good case in point. I've read where it could be considered a high end bargain. Then a scientist in a white coat tests it and awards it a headless pink panther. Are they both wr...
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point? Let me expand my question. Why is science incapable of providing even the slightest indication why equipment is judged by knowledgeable people as superior?Surely there must be something that can be measured? Or is music just too complex to be tested?
Half speed masters. Are they worth the extra scratch? Half speed halves the frequency range so it only goes up to 10kHZ rather than 20kHz and it can be cut far more accurately.Having said that, just play your media at the stated speed and enjoy the improvement.
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point? What makes you think your claim is true? Perhaps you can provide examples that I've obviously missed. As I stated, test tones and sub audible measurements are no indication of how music sounds.
Why is science just a starting point and not an end point? in case you haven’t noticed, science fails to fully explain many important things in life I couldn't agree more. I created the topic after continuously reading pundits extolling science as the deciding factor in all thing audio.
