Math + Logic + Science = something completely mad...
My monoblocks are sitting on top of the speakers.I stopped reading right about there … On another thread I saw you post that you find no sonic advantage to expensive cables over your cheap cables. (In my best Maury voice) “You are telling the truth.”
Low gain dac!
Not a cheap solution but one that will solve your problem with no sonic penalties. http://www.thehornshoppe.com/the_truth_pre_amp.html

I’m just going to leave this here.https://www.audioholics.com/audio-video-cables/audio-cable-break-in-science-or-psychologicalAn article about psychology written by somebody with zero medical or psychology credentials? LMAO ...

I’m surprised no one suggested placing the cables in the freezer for 72 hours..Well actually I do. Not the freezer in your mommas basement, and not for 72 hours, but cryo treatment.

Cables take a while to sound their best. I don't know what the science behind it is, and I don't really care.  I have experienced this phenomenon so many times that I know it's true.Just be patient. It will settle after a while.Resistors, capacito...
Silver cables added resolution
If you feel the mains is the source of your noise, you may want to try a good mains filter. I use pure silver cables (no copper) all the way through and do not exhibit the noise you speak of. That said every component goes through a mains filter A...
Adjusting the sonic fingerprint of a system.
@steakster   Lowering the volume in the digital realm reduces resolution Could you elaborate on this? Why would my digital resolution be reduced when the volume is reduced?
This forum is antiquated.
You posted 67 times and counting in 11 days on this forum but you whine about the interface and disparage the moderators? You must be very lonely …
Is it safe to use a higher amperage rating fuse?
@grannyring Do you have any more detail on the use of breakers? I've never tried them, but on the face of it it does seem like a good idea and I'd like to explore. Thanks
Is it safe to use a higher amperage rating fuse?
It seems to be a common experience with the expensive fuses of all brands, I can’t quite see why that would be. Call me cynical, but I suspect expensive fuses blow frequently because the manufacturers want to sell you some more of their expensi...
Switching to battery power
" You do not power the amplifier with a pure sine wave. You power it with pure DC."The input to every amplifier I have ever owned has been 110v AC. I don’t plug my amplifiers into a DC source and never have, I plug them into an AC source as per th...
Is it safe to use a higher amperage rating fuse?
@OPFuses are noisy. You can use a small value capacitor, 0.01 uF and smaller wired between live and ground to mitigate the noise. Note, if you wire the capacitor upstream from the fuse, you have to use a capacitor that is rated to be used on mains...
Is it safe to use a higher amperage rating fuse?
"  I value what the MFG recommends. They advised me to never put a larger value fuse in any component as this is how the safety features are designed. Seems some of us are finding no issue with that strategy but I am not comfortable to roll the...
Is it safe to use a higher amperage rating fuse?
Try slow blow fuses. If a fuse blows when you power up you either have a short which means no matter what value fuse value you try it will do it's job and blow, or the transformers allows an inrush of current which temporarily exceeds the current ...
Switching to battery power
Feedback part 1:My DAC (RME ADI-2) runs off a little wall wart power supply. While I was deciding which power station to buy for the rest of my equipment, I decided to buy a 12v Lithium Ion battery pack for the DAC to see if the sound improved.The...
