Music Direct (amusicdirect.com) is selling them for $11.99 each. They are SACD hybrids. They are having a sale right now and if you spend more than $50 you get 10% off and if you spend more than $100 you get 15% off (you need a promotional code fr...
Integrated to match Von Schweikert VR-2
I used a McIntosh MA 6900 to drive the VR2's with splendid results. A used one is still more than you want to spend but the MA 6500 is in your price range. I would think the NAD you have would do the job--are you sure you might not want to conside...
Is Exemplar the answer?
TVAD: I waited 6 weeks for my 2900 player. That was fine with me. It was totally worth the wait and the only cassified section on Audiogon I have been visiting these days is the software (CD's, SACD's and DVD-A) section. Hang in there, and don't f...
Is Exemplar the answer?
Streetdaddy: I cannot speak to all the different kinds of CR's and ways of making them, but I have put two burned discs into the Denon and they have played.
Need suggestions for new speakers under $5K
Spacekadet: You want to "enjoy the music" and you want the speakers to be "accurate". These are highly subjective terms that are difficult to pin down when giving recommendations. I am sure everyone who has recommended a speaker to you, including ...
Need suggestions for new speakers under $5K
I strongly recommend that Vonschweikert VR4-JR. I have the Macintosh MA 6900 integrated amp. These speakers are the most enjoyable ones I have ever owned. They retail for 4K. Great synergy with my MAC gear. See my system which is almost all MAC. E...
Von Schweikert VR-4 Jr Room and amp Requirements
My JR's are in a room that is rectangular. About 20 feet long and 10 feet wide. The speakers are aimed down the long wall. The sound is fabulous. I can only single wire them at this time and I hook my mains to the M/T unit. I have a pair of custom...
Von Schweikert VR-4,Jr.
WOW!!! I just hit the 150 hour mark and the sound just exploded. Everything just opened up! The midrange bloom is palpable and the bass, well, I can feel it in my bones now--in a good way. The top end has filled out nicely too. I am still dialing ...
Is Exemplar the answer?
You should read the other Exemplar thread that by now is at a lower position in this forum. It has many respones about the Exemplar Denon. I have had mine for almost 2 months now and have about 250 hours on it. I am blown away by how good it is. I...
McIntosh MVP851 or Denon 5900
Sinosin: Sorry, Kr4 is right, go to the Stereophile link he posted. I saw it there not at the MAC website. It does not say a lot, but it gives a picture and short description.
McIntosh MVP851 or Denon 5900
Isn't the MVP 861 coming out, which is a true Universal player? You may want to wait for that. I saw the press release at the MAC website.
Personal speaker evolution
I have evolved a couple times since I last posted. From the Thiel 2.3 I went to the Vonschweikert VR2 (1 yr.) and then the Vonschweikert VR4JR. I think I am done evovling for a while. I can't afford to anymore. I love these jr's though!
