Rewire Marantz or Reterminate Cable How about just reversing the speaker cables to flip the polarity back?
Norah Jones a tinge short $1 2.80,Kind of reminds me of 2 teenagers arguing about which is better, Ford or Chevy, and noticing 2 little boys arguing about whose bike is better and thinking to themselves how stupid that is, then get back to their car discussion. Now a Gulfst...
Norah Jones a tinge short Heads up. She's on Letterman tonight.
SET Integrated Amps SET's can cost anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to a couple hundred thousand dollars. Knowing your budget would help.
straight wire serenade interconnects Arrows pointing in the direction of signal flow so in this case, pointing toward the pre.Personal opinion: Try it both ways. You never know and you won't hurt anything. Good luck.
Are horns and hi-eff designs becoming more popular I think they are. With tubes making such a great comeback, it just makes sense that Hi-Eff would grow with it.Taking it a step further: I think the triode is the most perfect amplifying device, especially when done in single ended mode. Now we're ...
Triode versus Ultralinear/Pentode NO. But that's only because you used the "always" word. :-)Wiring triode may reduce some distortion, you can probably use less feedback, a good thing IMO. But you end up with a lot less power and that won't set too well with some speakers. At leas...
Top 5 recievers of the 70's and 80's ???? In the Marantz line, I like the Model 18 and 19.
Anyone send back Magnepan MMG's? Just a case of different "horses for courses". MMG's, or maybe even planars in general, are the wrong horse for your course. Personally, I think everyone should have both a planar and a box, like having an electric and acoustic guitar, but if you ...
Low Power 300b Integrated VS. Higher Power Int. I agree with Jaybo, you may be better served with a tube push-pull. SET's, and especially the 300b, can be scary good in the midrange department but you list guitar rock as a favorite listen. I like the EL84 tube and if you need more power, the EL...
Best stereo recievers of the 1970's? The Marantz 19 is at the top of my list of best receivers of the 70's.
Satellites or full range? Possibility with the sub/sat is high. Often with full range, the best placement for midrange and up is not the best for bass and vice versa. In a comparison, the best chances for the sub/sat to win would be a lower x/o point and blending the phase...
Amp for Quad ESL 57 I hear the Bedini 25/25 is a great amp for the Quads. I bought a 45/45 awhile back for my Maggie 3.6s and it's one of the nicest SS amps I've had on them and I'm a big tube fan, especially SETs. Good luck.
High vs. Low Efficiency Speakers With your preference for classical music, I would recommend going the higher effeciency route and since you don't listen that loud, try a SET amp out sometime. Good luck.
Mcintosh c-28 Where do i go from here? The 33 has a MUCH better volume control. It tracks very close through out its range. If looks are important, it matches the 2155. Mac was always known for its amps, word was when the 33 came out, they really got a handle on preamps. |
