Does anything better Jelco arm ~$1000
@sbank The Jelco phono cable is more than fine. I would get it and not worry for a while about spending more. I have tried others 2 or 3 times the price and went back to the Jelco one.

^ I have two 12" 750 arms and find the highs fine. However, noting what @karl_desch says about the Audiomods having better treble extension, the new Jelco 850 has excellent highs - an order of magnitude better than the 750. Overall the 850 is a fa...
When your hearing is not very good......
Me too. Loud music was the cause. As Dan said, don't assume your hearing (and you) does not deserve the best sound. You will be able to discern the improvements. Spend well. YOLO!
Audiodesk Vinyl Cleaner Pro - Drying Issue
I use a AS myself but not an AD. Would it be anything to do with not enough surfactant causing the water to bead up?
Phono stage can minimize tics and pops on vinyl
@atmasphere Somewhat ironic that you say cost isn’t a factor while using your amps as examples to support that point. :-)
Questions about VPI Turntables and rotational speed
Yeah, the phone can only do wrong. Can you hear instability when playing a recording with piano? The SDS simply recreates a clean version of the voltage waveform needed by the AC synchronous motor.
Phono stage can minimize tics and pops on vinyl
Dunno but don’t fall into the trap of giving up detail ands inner resolution for a filtered sound with a cheaper phono amp. I’ve been so happy with my phono-pre that I’ve never felt the need to experiment with suppressing vinyl noise. However the ...

@dorkwad Isn't the TFT out of production?

Agreed. The 750 (550) is outclassed by the 850 and is a no-brainer to outlay the extra cash. I have both and the 850 is better - more spacious, deeper stage, musically more cohesive, colorful, more incisive highs, smoother but with more detail.

If you are in the market for 12" arms, look also at the Audio-Creative GrooveMaster II.

@bpoletti See my post on 7/7/2018.
Running a LOMC in MM setting?
Sounds like you need to play more with the settings on the MC input. By play, I mean read up on what is happening with different settings and why they are there.

Spencer, George Merrill sells the 850L for $895. Batman reports that the 850 blows away the 750.

Ha! Well you were meant to take a guess! Anyhow, the monoblocs’ tube bias was so low, they were barely running properly. My bad, after changing tubes some time ago, I should have re-checked bias after they settled in.
