Furutech fuse
@auxinput Noted. I'll burn them in on the other rig and try it again.

Yes. Increasing volume reduced need to cup ears. Now my arms don't ache so much.

I heard that wax filled fuses sound good. So do fuses with a wrap of masking tape or PTFE. I'm going to try the latter. My guess is the fuse and/or fuse wire is oscillating at the power frequency due to its construction much like a guitar string. ...

@elizabeth Indeed. Me too. Years ago, I moved a turntable from a temp location on a concrete floor to a lovingly built oak table. The SQ deteriorated so badly it was horrific.  Yet when I added granite underneath, it was almost back to where it wa...

@cleeds Jeez, I did not mean it literally. I used a simile to illustrate how I believe the product is overpriced.

I should have known that it would sound the way it did. Rhodium is like that. I have power cords with the same sonic signature but to a lesser extent than the fuse. Maybe their gold one would sound better in mine. The rhodium could certainly tip a...

@millercarbon I understand where you are comong from. "does not justify the price to me". I would rather hard wire the amp than spend $249 on a fuse. It’s just a principle thing for me.

Thanks. Everything makes an impact on sound. Mats, spikes, cones, wood of different types, brass, aluminum, cable, tubes, humidity, foam, dirty power, mood ... list is endless! And it's not always good.
SME release new Garrard 301
If I ever do a new bearing housing, it'll be in a CTC 301 with 401 motor.I do have an AF idler and CTC platter which raise the performance by an order. Does the kokomo still indent the base of the shaft?

Mine must be hosed cos my ear cupping focusses cymbals like a miracle tweak. I just dumped the foamy cushion backrest. It hurts but sounds better.
Connecting a NAD M2 to a REL 212/SE
Looks like you can connect it to any unused RCA on the NAD. All you are doing is using the outer ground connection on the RCA cable. Keep the volume to minimum on the .1 input on the REL.

@audiofun ;-)No AF tables. 2 AudioGrail 401s - an early twin spark in slate and a later one in walnut/maple+brich ply.See my system in details.
Blackbird / SME
Probably work with some additional weight added to both headshell (brass bolts) and counterweight.  As your headshell is fixed, be real careful with that naked cantilever.

@audiofun Got it. Yes, I see the review. Funny thing is I got this info from someone else. You're right, bad intel. Thanks for the correction. FTR, I have one of Chris' idlers!
