All the old issues of Stereo Review are online!! Not in the mags but if you ever want a laugh, check out the letters between Mikey Fremer and Arthur Salvatore. Enough insults and f-bombs to sink a ship.
I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance To do so would entail curtailing the high frequencies to the point where presence is lost, as well as detail in the higher registers....No. Not so at all. Better tracking using a better table, better arm and cartridge along with better control of ...
Furutech fuse The ad hominem makes it right? Along with the argumentum ad populum? All their spiel does is validate my point about the lucrative pricing.
I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance @audioguy85 The thing is this - I have had the same issue over the years and then one day, it stopped. I got things right. Please try this as I have suggested before:1. Replace (as a test) your speaker wire with 14g Romex. (silver-plated OFC can b...
Denon Heos-Can It connect via internet? ok. Download the Heos app from your phone's app store.
I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance So it appears that this is not a major issue at all. What you are experiencing is the limitations of your mid-fi components as they run into tracking and frequency response issues. Try your records at a high end dealer to get the final arbitration.
I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance First off, you cannot trust factory set up cartridges. So forget that.Second, I get NO sibilance on any records except for one or two where it is on the recording. Third, are you cleaning the records?Cheers.
I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance I have a good number of 50/60/70s recordings of female vocalists, I’ll listen to my Julie London and see if I notice anything. In the meantime, try your speakers with 14 gauge mains cable "Romex" and leave ground disconnected.
Denon Heos-Can It connect via internet? So I tried to look into this but can’t find the model RE3. I've a funny feeling "RE3" is a remote extender which is only for amplifying the wireless signal. Can you confirm the #? If it’s one of the wireless speakers, you need to connect it over ...
I'm putting to rest worrying about sibilance Something is amiss. You have a number or "thrift" LPs - all showing sibilance.Difference preamps, tables, arms etc. What’s common to all? Amp and speakers, support, wiring, and your alignment efforts.Have you tried mint LPs, or other copies, as mil...

Furutech fuse Millercarbon, the problem for me is that I have a background in electronics, and I know not so much the specific explanations, but that there is an explanation. There is always one or one forthcoming. Is it a physical phenomenon or a psycho-acoust...
Thoughts about Jadis and Harbeth I wouldn’t. At this price point, there are better amps. The Jadis is a hybrid with transistors in the driver circuit. The bias pots do not look robust, fuses are inside and not serviceable. I think you should buy a US made amplifier like the Quick...
Value, if any, of vintage TT and tone arm. Lucky for her, you were wise enough to ask. Bless.
