Need help finding a new phono stage.
Which I'm not fully understanding because I thought that stage was for mm only? Can someone help explain this? The 10x5 is a high output moving coil which works directly into a MM phono stage.
Croft Acoustcs Vitale - request for US service?
While you are at it, if you have an IEC socket, try an inexpensive quality power cable like the BLE Design 10ga rhodium for $39. Try wrapping a few turns of masking tape around the glass fuse but not touching the metal end caps. You may be surprised.

Sounds like work any good tech should be able to do.
Input impedance and preamp caps
Increase the output caps on the pre-amp to 2uF for 20k compatibility. Running without the caps will likely send DC to the power amp.

I wish there was a Decca Reference with UP-OCC or silver wire and a beryllium "cantilever". (Although the Be might shatter!)

I have three well-sorted Deccas and enjoy them. Recently, I bought an Audio Technica 750 with Shibata tip as it was highly recommended and I needed something for a second table. It does have seemingly better depth and sometimes more air. However, ...

@slaw Re First Aid Kit. Um...not sure they're your scene. Their best album is The Lion's Roar so you could start there. It sort of grows on you and their voices sound good. Second best is Drunken Trees. It's earlier and cute.

@halcro That’s disappointing. Are you certain it wasn’t a setup or record issue? I run all my Deccas on 2 lowly Jelco 850 12" and 9" (and a 12" 750 gimbal on another table) arms with knife-edge bearings (albeit good ones) and have no issues with m...
What is your favorite tube type?
Depends on where the tube sits. My favorite tube of all was a black plate CV5042 (of uncertain heritage) which is a military version of the 12BH7A but it was better than those. It had silent blacks and huge soundstage with exceptional detail in a ...

@uberwaltz I may have got that Grey. It was cheap and unknown but turned out to be practically unplayed.

@frogman Ha! I actually edited my reply by adding in "slight" as I felt it was on the recording and not the fault of the cartridge.
