Old Legendary tubes vs New Kids on the block Amperex/Siemens/Tele vs Psvane/TAD/Shugaung
I did not recommend the T series only the black 12AX7LS (from Grant Fidelity). I did find they sound best in the phono stage but I replaced Teles in buffer and driver stages too.I've been rolling since the 80s so take it or leave it. Don't confuse...
12-1/2" arm. NewArtVinyl Black Bird. Yea or Nay?
Ha. I'd go with nyet unless you want to experiment at your own risk. You can get a 12" Jelco 850 from George Merrill for the same money.

Lordy... You need to regroup and think about what you need. Do you really want to start getting into analog and all it requires when you seem to have no vinyl? Please do not get into tweaking at this time. You'll lose your mind. Looks like you lik...

For all the test "AX" tubes you've gone through, you could have just got a set of Telefunken ECC83/12AX7. They are the best. Unless, you use Shuguang Black 12AX7LS and allow 20 hours burn-in. They beat out Teles in my amps.

@spiritofradio I love pre-digital recordings. The sound quality is often very good. But it's not just that. The history of the music is amazing.@slaw  Calexico -great band.
First Moving Coil (MC) Cartridge Acquisition

Luckey Roberts & Willie Smith ‎- Luckey & The Lion: Harlem Piano (Good Time Jazz 1960)Reading the back cover about these two great Harlem ticklers and their amazing lives makes me bittersweet about having a really boring life!
Who else here is frugal?
Frugal is my middle name. But not too cheap. It's important to be able to discriminate between what is excellent and honest and what is designed to rip you off. This goes for everything you buy. I do detest wasting money though.

Josh White - Josh at Midnight (Elektra 1956)Awesome record. Interesting version of 'Jesus Gonna Make Up My Dyin' Bed' which Led Zeppelin covered but claimed as their own on Physical Graffiti.
