From pass xa25 to krell k-300i
I’m a happy owner of the Krell K300i.   It’s a great amp.   I think the issue is one of synergy with the rest of the system.   My limited experience with Pass, is that those amps are smooth, refined, and warm.  I would not describe them as forward...
Speakers versus Balance vs Amplifier
Balance adjusts the VOLUME of one channel vs the other.   Moving your seating position changes the TIMING of the sound waves arriving at your ears.   You can’t adjust timing with a balance control. As other have suggested, you might be able to ch...
Why on earth?
I think it can be a valuable tool in some minor respects.  Ana(Dia)log does some A/B comparisons where you can hear the differences I demoed equipment.   Obviously everything is filtered though a less than ideal chain, but it does give you a valid...
Class A integrated amp recommendations
+1 for the Krell K300i.   I own one and after 3 years, I still love it.   The Krell replaced a Prima Luna HP Dialogue Integrated tube amp.   Good hunting for great listening!
As A Youngster, What Unit Puqued Your Interest In All This?
It was about 1976/1977, I went with my Dad to the local stereo store.   Dad was buying Cerwin Vega speakers, Girard Turntable, and a Sylvania receiver.   The next room over was playing Dave Grusin, Three Cowboy Songs and it was magical.   I don’t ...
Will China become the poor man’s dealer for high end audio?
I trust my ears.   Trust your ears too.   If you think some equipment sounds better and is satisfactorily supported, then buy it.   Who cares where it’s made.
Effects Of Power Cords On Electrostatic Speakers
I found the same thing with my Xstatics when I changed from the stock power cables to audiophile cables (Mark Tunis Black Magic cables).   I attributed the improvements to stabilizing and lowering the noise floor of the stators.   Whatever the act...
Recommendations for against the wall high efficiency speakers
The right speaker will be placed 6-7 feet from the side wall along the front wall (facing the stereo).   The left speaker will be about 8-10 feet from the right one (a long ways from the left wall).   All placements are theoretical at this moment ...
Recommendations for against the wall high efficiency speakers
Thanks Everyone.   Great suggestions that really broadened my thinking and approach.   I’m very intrigued with Zu and Audio Note.   Both look like good options.   Now I’ve got to figure out where to go to hear them in the S. Florida area.
Recommendations for against the wall high efficiency speakers
Thank you all for significantly broadening my search!   It’s the journey as much as it is the end, and I like the end a lot too!

@roxy54, Interesting idea.   I've not heard the Audio Note, but they are well reviewed.   I'll see if I can find a pair to audition somewhere.   @rar1, I love Zu and had not thought about them.   Can they be placed up against the wall?   I've on...
Integrated suggestions
+1 on the Krell K300i (XD).   This is my integrated and it replaced my PrimaLuna HP Dialog.   I liked both, but the Krell is much better sounding in my system driving Exstatic electrostatic speakers.   It has all the input options you are looking ...
Why Do Cables Matter?
I have no real idea as to why ables matter.   I hear all the arguments for and against.  What I do really know is that I can hear the difference and so can others.   Therefore, I invest in cables.   I’m not saying that everyone should do the same....
Top two most important sound qualities
Clarity and presence.   I want my system to sound as close to “live” as possible.
Best Class D GaNFET Amp Comparison. Who to invite?
I’m interested if in Seattle.   I can’t bring amps, but I can lend a hand and ears.
