Rythmik or REL Subs to pair with Totem Element Metal V2?
Great feedback, thank you.   So far, that’s 100% for a pair of Rythmik subs!
when your hearing is not as good as it was . . .
I’m 64 and I can directly attribute my hearing loss to one specific concert, a great garage band by the name of Netherworld when they played at a community college campus in Los Gatos CA.   Anyway, I love music.   Don’t lose heart.   I equalize to...
Is there such a thing as a good medium priced music streamer?
+1 on the Innuos Zen Mini Mk3.   It’s a streamer, it’s a CD ripper with SSD storage, it’s a DAC, and it can be a Roon Core.   And it also runs Sense.   I am a happy owner of one and can highly recommend it.   I’ve used it in all of the functions m...
Are you on or off? What say you?
I’m neither on nor off the Merry-go-round.   I love my music and my systems that present it.   I’m also open to new ideas and equipment to improve the presentation.  Sometimes I shop and buy, sometimes I don’t.
Martin Logan vs. Everything
ML and any open baffle/dipole/planar speaker are a different animal.   Not better or worse, just different.   Some people love them, others don’t.    It’s your ears, don’t let other’s opinions influence yours, particularly if they are biased again...
Ethernet Switch Recommendations Please
I have the LHY SW10 and the SW8.   I heard a noticeable improvement over standard Ethernet data switches.   I’ve not compared them to other audio Ethernet switches.    Good Hunting!
Higher-End Class A/B vs. Class A Integrateds
@NickTheKnife,   I agree that a proper integrated or preamp should have a volume knob.   The Krell 300i has buttons instead (not as good as a knob) and it has a great remote.   I just use the remote, so it works for me.
Higher-End Class A/B vs. Class A Integrateds
You might consider a used Krell K300i integrated.   The first watts are Class A then the rest are class A/B.   I don’t recall the actual cutover, but it’s pretty high.   I own one and love it.   Smooth, warm (not bloomy), extended highs, and massi...
From pass xa25 to krell k-300i
I’m a happy owner of the Krell K300i.   It’s a great amp.   I think the issue is one of synergy with the rest of the system.   My limited experience with Pass, is that those amps are smooth, refined, and warm.  I would not describe them as forward...
Speakers versus Balance vs Amplifier
Balance adjusts the VOLUME of one channel vs the other.   Moving your seating position changes the TIMING of the sound waves arriving at your ears.   You can’t adjust timing with a balance control. As other have suggested, you might be able to ch...
Why on earth?
I think it can be a valuable tool in some minor respects.  Ana(Dia)log does some A/B comparisons where you can hear the differences I demoed equipment.   Obviously everything is filtered though a less than ideal chain, but it does give you a valid...
Class A integrated amp recommendations
+1 for the Krell K300i.   I own one and after 3 years, I still love it.   The Krell replaced a Prima Luna HP Dialogue Integrated tube amp.   Good hunting for great listening!
As A Youngster, What Unit Puqued Your Interest In All This?
It was about 1976/1977, I went with my Dad to the local stereo store.   Dad was buying Cerwin Vega speakers, Girard Turntable, and a Sylvania receiver.   The next room over was playing Dave Grusin, Three Cowboy Songs and it was magical.   I don’t ...
Will China become the poor man’s dealer for high end audio?
I trust my ears.   Trust your ears too.   If you think some equipment sounds better and is satisfactorily supported, then buy it.   Who cares where it’s made.
Effects Of Power Cords On Electrostatic Speakers
I found the same thing with my Xstatics when I changed from the stock power cables to audiophile cables (Mark Tunis Black Magic cables).   I attributed the improvements to stabilizing and lowering the noise floor of the stators.   Whatever the act...
