How do you amp your system?
I run 4.0, with the front L/R powered by McCormack DNA-1DeluxeRevA, and the surrounds powered by my Onkyo receiver. I probably will go 4.1 soon, with a powered sub.
Speaker Cable Advice Needed
You might also at least try out a set of Morrow SP4 speaker cables. Make sure to get the nude wire terminations, and when you make the connections, keep as much as possible of the bare wire in contact with the contact surface area on the speaker a...
Poor sound from rental Blu-Ray discs
No, not all Lionsgate films. I just watched Arbitrage(Lions Gate) from Netflix and it did have DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
Poor sound from rental Blu-Ray discs
I see that I may have been a bit ambiguous there. I meant to say my connection is via HDMI.
Poor sound from rental Blu-Ray discs
Since your Samsung BR player does not have analog outputs, if you want to get lossless DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby True HD, you will have to get a receiver or pre-pro that decodes DTS-HD and Dolby True HD, and connect to your BR player via HDMI....
Cost of Keeping Components on All the Time?
"DNA deluxe uses approximately 60W of idle power for both channels. Plug in values in the above mentioned formulas. for 15-cent kwh will yield ~$7/mo"Thanks for that info. The even better news is, since I pay 8.9 cents/kwh, my cost should be ~$4!
Do expensive cables/wires REALLY make a difference
When I played around with interconnect cables a while back, there was an obvious difference between, say the Anti-cables and the Audio Art IC3. The IC3 was more open and detailed.

On the strong recommendation of the folks at SMC Audio, I have been leaving my McCormack DNA-1 Deluxe on 24/7. I don't have any idea how much per month that is costing me, but dang it does sound good. Now, I don't leave my other equipment on all t...
Do not buy any Sonus Faber used
Seems like this policy will kill SF resale value, and thus kill initial sales. I will no longer consider SF because if I ever want to sell them, nobody will pay much for them due to this policy.
Totem Arro vs Revel Concerta F12
Ahh, wasn't aware of those pluses for the bigger model. Guess it depends on personal preference. I have always been a sucker for big tower speakers.
Totem Arro vs Revel Concerta F12
Dang, you can buy a pretty good sub for that $2000 difference!
New speakers.
I think there is a thread on high efficiency speakers here.
Starting small home theater, need advice
Brian,Onkyo 717 @ $530, not a bad deal:http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-NR717-7-2-Channel-Theater-Receiver/dp/B007JOO4YS/ref=sr_1_3?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1354760036&sr=1-3

Some really nice work there from Realremo! But you do have to go up to the Onkyo 717 to get the multi-channel pre-outs.
Any good moderately priced bluray players?
I have the Panny BDT-210 in my bedroom system, and it has been great. The picture is great into my 50" plasma, and since I use the HDMI connection into my Yamaha receiver, the sound would be the same with any BD player. One really cool thing about...
