Small Floorstander That Uses Ribbon Tweeters? http://www.morrowaudio.com/expression.htmThis is a new model I am interested in for my bedroom system, which is used for music and movies. Has a ribbon tweeter, as well as woofers which are large enough to provide decent impact.

Emotiva amplifiers review/experience? "Mtrot, I would be inserted in hearing about your experience with the McCormack DNA-1."Elem, I received the DNA-1, but it had a loud hum issue. Incredible kudos to SMc Audio, as I had emailed them for help and they called me that very night and sp...
LOOKING FOR A GOOD HDMI CABLE That is a very good question. It was my understanding that the HDMI configuration mostly eliminates the issue of jitter that seems to be a problem with coaxial and optical digital transmission. If that is the case, how could exotic materials or co...
Emotiva amplifiers review/experience? Anybody else find these long threads in which the OP never reappears strange? I mean, it's the OP's prerogative as to any further participation, but just seems odd. I'm glad for the thread, because I had the same question.
Emotiva amplifiers review/experience? As I posted earlier in this thread, I was debating the same thing. I did end up picking up a McCormack DNA-1 Rev. A, which cost me several hundred more dollars than a XPA-2, here on Audiogon. Have not received it yet, but will report my findings.
First foray into separate 2-channel amp, 200wpc I have now found and bought a McCormack DNA-1 Rev.A here on Agon. In the course of researching amps, I read so many good things about this amp that I decided to give it a try. I should be receiving it soon and will report back my experience.
First foray into separate 2-channel amp, 200wpc Thanks, Samzx12, I prefer from about $350 to $450. In that range, the most common units I am finding are the Adcom 5500, Adcom 555 Mark II, and Acurus A250. What about between Adcom and Acurus? There was an Aragon 2004 II, but it is gone now.
First foray into separate 2-channel amp, 200wpc What about between say, B&K Ref 2220, Adcom 5500, Acurus A250? Only thing on the B&K is that owner is asking $650 and can get new Emotiva XPA-2 now for $699. As of now, no good Aragons listed on Agon.
Emotiva amplifiers review/experience? I second the question. I've been researching used two-channel power amps to use with my receiver, including McCormack, Odyssey, Aragon, Acurus, B&K. The only problem is, whenever I start looking at paying $600-$1000 for one of them, I then thi...
how much power Roxito, good thread. I am currently researching the same scenario with my bedroom system, which consists of a Yamaha RX-V1800 receiver driving a set of Monitor Audio Silver 9i towers. The bedroom is the master, and not small, at 14 by 16 feet. I t...
Amp recommendations sought I am looking for the same, i.e., an amp to connect to my receiver pre-outs. Interested to see some more recommendations!
First foray into separate 2-channel amp, 200wpc What about between a McCormack DNA 0.5 and an Aragon 2004 Mk II? Both rated at similar output, but the McCormack going for several hundred dollars higher. There is also a McCormack DNA 0.5 Deluxe, that runs a bit higher. Not sure how much better i...
First foray into separate 2-channel amp, 200wpc Imhififan,Thanks, I am already bi-amping them with the bi-amp feature of the 1800. Using Morrow SP2 for the HF terminals, and some regular copper zip cord for the LF terminals. Mike Morrow says his cable will improve the bass quality(not quantity)...
First foray into separate 2-channel amp, 200wpc Imhififan,Hmm...my Yamaha receiver I am driving them with now is rated for 130 wpc in stereo mode. The only reason I was thinking of a separate amp was that the person I bought the 9is from stated they sounded better with more power and that he ha... |
