LP -12 Felt Plater Mat
I used a Herbie's Way Excellent Mat on my LP 12 with superb results.
vibration and resonance
Call Steve @ Herbie's Audio and talk with him. I'm sure he will have some worthwhile suggestions.
Advice on Role Audio Enterprise please
I have owned NSM (which I believe is the parent company, or it could be the other way around) speakers and enjoyed them very much. They replaced Mission 70's and provided a deeper soundstage along with a richer, fuller sound. I believe that Role A...
What do you use for isolation?
All Herbie's stuff. Big Fat Dots under the speakers, Tenderfoots under the CD & Iso-Cups w/Ruby balls under the amp. I've used spikes, myrtle blocks and assorted other devices also, none work as well as Herbie's.
zyx universe cartr.- ideal weight -ideal vta ,
Leave it to Doug to call us all out. On my lesser ZYX, I run it at 1.86 =/-.01. Much less and there added sibilance and much more is a bit congested. My situation is a bit different in that I use a linear arm on an LT-30 (which Doug has seen throu...

While I use the R100H, I find 1.9 about right. Also, until I could secure a spacer, I had to have the tail up a bit. The sound was generally good, but came into its own when I was able to make the arm parallel. Enjoy your ZYX.
Be nice to nOobs
Good morning David. I'm also in agreement with the rudeness of not answering your emails at all. It's happened to me too. However, Viridian may had hit the answer on the head. It seems more and more if an item has a pending buyer (or actually is s...
Favorite reviewer?
I enjoy most of the reviewers in the Brit mags with Ken Kessler at the top of that list. Here in the US market, I put Art Dudley at the top and Neil Grader right behind. A little farther down are Fremer and Tellig.
How long can one go with interconnects to a cart.?
My phono cable is 1.5m and I don't think I'd go longer. The cart is a ZYX.
Once you go MAC you never go back.... My journey
This is great path you took. More than a few of us have taken vintage gear that was at the top of it's game about 30 years ago and had them restored with HQ parts. I have done that with an AU-D11. Just like your MAC (although to a likely lesser de...
Tannoy Speakers
I owned two sets (the MX series for HT & the Revolution 3's for 2-channel). I still use the MX series in my HT and very much enjoy them. The R/L front MX 4's play down to the low 30's so the sub crosses over much lower (about 45Hz). As far as ...
I envy what you know, not what you have
For me, it started with Sean. I had to work hard sometimes to understand what he was saying technology-wise but the passion in his responses helped me to ask better questions and help others if could. I am eternally grateful To Sean and all of the...
Which Cable Makes the Biggest Impact?
In my experiences with two separate systems (one analog-one digital HT), I found that power cords had the most sonic characteristics from cord to cord. In an effort to get close to neutrality, dedicated circuits & quality outlets made the most...
RECOMMEDATIONS FOR AC RECEPTACLE
I use Furtech FP 15A Cu with my dedicated lines. Another great guy to deal with is Lee at Cryoparts.
Help me choose a power conditioner, please
In my analog-only system, I use what Tvad mentioned, a Brickwall PW2RAUD for both the TT & Integrated. Even though I have dedicated circuits, the Brickwall enhanced the sound a bit with improved clarity and depth. So far, it has also done a fi...
