Which Herbie's Product is Best?
Tenderfeet under my CDP and Iso-Cups w/ the previously available Ruby balls (3) under my integrated amp and Big Dots under my speakers. Steve has to steer me wrong with isolation recomendations. I also have used the Excellent Mat on an LP12 with o...

Got A Turntable...What Next?
Good to hear about your foray into vinyl. Your first purchase should be a Record Cleaning Machine like a VPI 16.5 and something to keep your sylus clean. Protect those nice inherited LPs. My system is also part vintage and part new.
Used CD player for 200-300
A couple of weeks ago, I picked up an Arcam CD 72 for $275 here on Audiogon. I watched for something like it for about a month, checking every day, keeping in mind my price limits and brands of interest. Many of the pieces I was interested in were...
How important is HDMI?
I use Synergistic Research component cables from my HD Sat Box and DH Labs HDMI from my Blu Ray Player. These both go to a 61" DLP.
budget power conditioner
APC. Perhaps the H10. Surge protection and voltage regulation. I use the H15 in my HT.
How big a deal is the 120 hz feature on new TV's?
I have a Samsung 61" LED DLP. This month's face off in Home Theater Mag didn't like it and I can see some of their issues but only from very close up or they're not as distracting to me. If you want to email me, perhaps we can talk about it, I loo...
Westwood One Radio LPs
GEMM has a number listed with varying prices.
Cartridge polarity?

Cartridge polarity?
Thanks Casey. The plus and minus would be reversed not left and right.
Cartridge polarity?
Thanks Bob. I understand both sides being connected in phase. If I connect both sides out-of-phase, would I still get the enormous soundstage, would the bass return and would there be any damaging effects?
Surge Protection
I use a Brickwall PW2RAUD for my 2-channel system.
The best digital audio out of coaxial, or optical?
Too broad? Okay, Mrjstark, I'd wager a significant number of our Audiogon membership has never done a comparison with a high quality Toslink cable. I believe they read blanket negative comments like yours without supporting evidence (or in your ca...
The best digital audio out of coaxial, or optical?
Anti-Toslink people are damn funny. Cheap Toslink cables have issues sonically just like some metal-based digital cables. As an example, VDH Optocoupler is far superior to many standard digital cables and I would bet that most people would have tr...
Brand preference and opinions
It's not a new purchasing style. In the 1970's lots of people bought McIntosh stuff this way. Granted, much of it sounded great, but the folks I'm thinking of didn't have a clue that was the case. They bought it because it was McIntosh and anybody...
