Why I enjoy my Luminous Audio passive unit, vs an additional gain stage ( preamp )
@atmasphere Welcome to my post, and thank you for the feedback. My other cable is in fact another of the same cable, and of the same length. I like the sound of these cables. I am yet to hear a cable that does not have a sound ( after an extensive...
Interesting discovery when my carpets were cleaned yesterday!
Remember, there is an issue with the safety of the 5 year old.

Delays are expected. Truth should simply be told. Must be hard for any business these days, as the virus has disrupted the entire planet, of evey day normality.
BEL 1001 MK5 driving Joseph Audio Pulsars
A speaker in the 83-84 db range, is certainly going to tax any amplifier, if truthful dynamics is expected. I agree as well, the music, listening room / listener distance, volume levels, etc, all play a big part. My speakers play with any amplifie...
Improvement over nuforce sta 200?
Sounds to me, things are ok with your set up. " carpet on the roof ".  That is awesome. How close are you to the wall behind your listening seat ? I did get to read the gear post prior to the deletion.

I appreciate everyones feedback. Duke, I completely comprehend every thing you say. With my background, I am still so limited in speaking of those things as you do. And as a speaker designer, I am sure considerations are made by you and applied to...

Jond, it is all about the right speaker, for the right room, and the marriage, between them, and the listener. Prof., nice speakers, both, especially for a short listening distance. My modified Lascalas do great, with near field as well. Toe in, a...

Greg is the real deal ! I would love a pair of Vittoras, with a pair of ELFs and the Marchand sub electronics.
Improvement over nuforce sta 200?
Most of my colleagues, and folks that I know, who have, and enjoy, the STA 200, wish it were physically, larger in size. Not to be taken in a Freudian sort of way ( maybe ), lol. Your Scansonic MB1s, are, imo, somewhat horn like, in their delivery...

@alfau7. I know the amp as well as anyone. Please tell me the system ( ancillary equipment ) you have paired with it, and what do you feel you are missing from your musical enjoyment ? Enjoy !
Luxman L-509X
@builder3, if that truly is the case, I am wrong, plain and simple. But, this is, another switch, in the signal path. I suppose, I am a purist....old school.....less, is more. Enjoy, be well and stay safe ! Always, MrD.
Luxman L-509X
Why, oh why, does an expensive amplifier such as this, include the addition of a switch, and additional wires / traces, for speaker switching / headphone listening. I have bypassed this switching and additional wiring, in several amplifiers ( most...
Schiit SYS-49 and phono preamp with or without attenuator?
A simpler and shorter path, the signal goes through, is always superior in sq, such as cleanliness and detail of the signal, but the bigger question, ime, would be the output voltage and impedance of the phone stage, to adequately drive the power ...
Thanks Audiogon !
 Audiogon did an awesome thing.
seeking ‘HORN’ ideas apart from Klipshc Lascalla
@allears4u. All good ! The bass quality on the Lascala is superb. But, " for me ", they need that last bit of bottom, and it depends on the music listened to. I run mine full range ( many tweaks and mods ), and run my subs starting at just below 5...
