Brian Russell has passed away
It is always sad when someone passes. I have owned many Bryston pieces, and used them in many systems I put together over the years. My condolences to the Russell family, his colleagues, and his followers. RIP
The truth...Anyone can consider themselves a consultant, of anything.
@twoleftears I discussed the situation with Tammy and Admin, about some folks like yourself, counting commas and making fun of the thread, so I thought it best to have it deleted. BTW, did you ever read my comment about the flip down stylus guard ...
Speakers which always sound good

The truth...Anyone can consider themselves a consultant, of anything.
I was asked by some other members here through private emails, to tell a few of my stories. I was encouraged to keep this going, but not necessarily, make it about me, but make it a group thing. So many here, have interesting stories and specific ...
New speakers but old Rotel Amp
You can easily tweak / modify / damp the chassis of the RB981, eliminate the ringing of the internal heat sinks, replace the stock power cord ( I am aware it is not a removable cord ) with a quality, heavier gauge cord, change the feet, upgrade fu...

Lascala = Fully horn loaded 3 way.......Cello = Horn loaded tweeter down to 2800hz, 2 way, hybrid system ( transmission line mids / bass )........Lascala = 175 lbs, big box......Cello 75 lb slender, beautifully tapered design.......Lascala is 10 d...
Your most indispensable "tweak"?
Much of what is mentioned above, imo, are not tweaks, but actual components and necessities, as part of our systems, for bringing out the best for our enjoyment. I am in line with atmasphere ( even though we are on different sides about some thing...
Downside to "revealing" system?
I know many listeners who own 2 tonearms / cartridges, on a single table, or have 2 separate table / arm / cartridge players, for the exact reason you speak about. And as mentioned above, you have 2 phono stages.
Why I enjoy my Luminous Audio passive unit, vs an additional gain stage ( preamp )
My passive is single ended, and I am fine with it. Given everything you say, which is quite informative, still leaves me with 2 conclusions. The 1st is, balanced lines are useful, and necessary, when the lines are long, and / or there is an abunda...
BEL 1001 MK5 driving Joseph Audio Pulsars
@atmasphere Ditto with everything said !
Why I enjoy my Luminous Audio passive unit, vs an additional gain stage ( preamp )
All good. I have heard the Benchmark gear ( at another listener’s home ), which I understand conforms 100%. We did a cable shoot out, and the sq differences between cables were quite apparent to me ( I brought over some 1 meter Silnote Audio balan...
Amp matching for Klipsch Forte III
Klipsch " Heritage " speakers are fun, and I am glad folks besides myself, think so. I have spoken here and elsewhere, about damping the mid horns ( the greatest improvement ), the tweeter horns, the woofer and passive woofer frames, and the cabin...
KEF ls50 meta’s are on the way
Mapman, congrats, and yes, it will be interesting to hear your opinions on the differences / improvements with the Metas ( after some break in time ). Do you happen to have on your rear wall behind your couch, a sound absorbing panel, blanket or t...
Why I enjoy my Luminous Audio passive unit, vs an additional gain stage ( preamp )
@atmasphere Welcome to my post, and thank you for the feedback. My other cable is in fact another of the same cable, and of the same length. I like the sound of these cables. I am yet to hear a cable that does not have a sound ( after an extensive...
Interesting discovery when my carpets were cleaned yesterday!
Remember, there is an issue with the safety of the 5 year old.
