Are carbon fiber speaker cabinets inherently better than wood or metal ones
Seems with 3d printers it would be pretty easy to build a carbon fiber enclosure. I know they aren’t real quick but with 2 way fancy monitorS going for 5 figures seems like 12 hours (or whatever) in a printer wouldn’t be that much of a deal.
There's No Question
I found the DIs rather different than a lot of speakers. The cabinets are crap and at high volumes that empty sound came through. The tweeter mid range array I believe there is something to that. Stringed guitars you could hear every stroke and it...
Subwoofers: add a JL Audio or switch to 2 Rythmic subs?
JL and Rythmic do bass differently. My complaint about my Rythmic is the lack of punch. Not saying there is none but not like the JL punch you in the gut bass. The Rythmic does blend very well. Personally I would pony up for the JL.

I found they like to be closer together than a lot of other speakers. Miss mine.
Krell KSA 200s ground hum
I REALLY appreciate the ideas! You guys are kinda talking over my head right now. Not sure what was said in the last few posts that I can physically apply or check for a resolution. I need something like :   take your meter, put it here.. look ...
Krell KSA 200s ground hum
@jea48  “Are you using the OEM power cord that came with the Krell Amp? Is there a ground loop hum with only the preamp connected to the Krell amp? (Nothing connected to any of the inputs on the preamp. No other type of ground wire(s) connecte...
Krell KSA 200s ground hum
No it’s at least 2 ft away from the closest component.
Krell KSA 200s ground hum
I can have just one of my grounded components plugged into the dedicated line with the amp. Any of them. When I hook it up via rca to the amp the hum is pretty loud. Float the ground in that component and the hum is gone.
Suggestions for Phono Preamp
I really like my Rogue Audio Triton 2. Really dynamic. I have not compared it against similarly priced units, just basically bough it off reviews and it worked out. It’s got the little switched but they are on top of the unit under a little plate ...
Focal’s heart grew three sizes that day
@mijostyn , Impressive system and very cool room! Curious do you use room correction when playing vinyl?

Other amps used were a little Jolida 50 watt EL34 integrated and a sansui AU9500.

The old amp is a Musical Fidelity A1008 @250 watts a channel.

Also my B&W 801 Matrix V.2 were come to life. Although it kind of brought out the fact they probably need to have the crossovers changed out as they get kinda hard and lost at higher volumes.  I know I know it’s another bitch to drive speaker.
What would cause noise (ground noise?) when touching the volume control and tone controls?
As a first step I would put a cheater plug on the lower cable to lift the ground and see if it goes away.
Bang for the buck
Wow that is a damn deal! I’m tempted although I don’t need them. Heard a lot of good things about them.
