Question on phono input noise levels
Definitely no hum or buzzing.  Just a combination of “hiss” and a “rushing” noise.  I can hear it at my listening position, at a volume setting I would consider to be medium.  The sound comes out of both the tweeter and midrange drivers.  The outp...
Why no “Break in” period?
Because a lot of stuff really does sound so good you notice immediately and right out of the box. Doesn't mean it doesn't continue to improve as it burns in.
Eh hem!...Subwoofers... What do ya know?
uberwaltz:I use just one ML Dynamo 700w sub right now to compliment my Maggie's.Strongly considering adding another though.Room can really only handle two as far as placement goes.Would a pair work diagonally opposite each other? So say one front l...
Eh hem!...Subwoofers... What do ya know?
1) From what I read here, it seems like multiple in-wall subwoofers would be a good swarm solution...yes/no?Yuck! The beauty of DBA is quantity matters more than quality. But, come on! A man's got to know his limitations.2) Millercarbon: what s...

New Dire Straits 45RPM reissues from Mobile Fidelity
How about actually listening to these before you make stupid statements... When I call Acoustic Sounds and they tell me yes BIA45 is the worst they ever had, and there will be another pressing run of BIA45 but they don't know when it will be, a...

Thanks hemigreg for trying. Sorry about Forest for the Trees. I maybe kind of get what you’re saying. We can draw a line from within a gnats hair from the beginning, through the supernovae that created every element, to the space dust that coalesce...
Eh hem!...Subwoofers... What do ya know?
If subs aren't the most misunderstood thing in audio, I sure don't want to know what is!Take me. Been into audio since the early 70's. Built my first amp in high school. My first speaker was a transmission line in 1978. Thought I knew all about so...

millercarbon,do you use HFT's with traditional acoustic treatments,or are these applied alone?Sorry for the late reply. So many threads ruined so often and so fast by the same few people I tend to say what I think needs to be said and then that's ...
