Stuck at home? Make a kit!!
b-limo I actually appreciate your consistent recommendation to build a speaker kit!   I’ve been on the fence for awhile and need the “push” to actually ever do it. You want to build a speaker, the place to start is build some subs. With speakers...
O.K., the other end of your personal experience
Chinese company Jungson made some absolute crap of a integrated amp. This was right after a bad experience with a tube integrated, Aronov LS960I that while magical sounding turned out to be long-term unstable. So, keen to avoid a replay of that de...
Safe and Sound Audio experience
Safe and Sound audio experience? N95, 6 feet, and wash.
Soundstage Confusion
Out of phase? Ouch. Connected out of phase the sound would be utterly diffuse to the point of seeming to come from everywhere and nowhere and there would be no image, no soundstage, center or otherwise. OP clearly described imaging both times. Fif...
what's your opinion on the magazine 'stereo review'??
Millercarbon...interesting points I won't dispute. At 16 in 1971 I read every month and thought I learned a lot as a start into hi-fi. Later sold stereo (yamaha, McIntosh, Ohm, B&O, other classic 70's) and have an aquaintance with Julian Hir...

Linear Tracker ...I was wondering
To put a linear arm on a table it simply needs to... outperform all other comparably priced arms. Assuming of course that sound quality is your goal. I have little reason to believe that is the case. Because, if it were, then people would be talki...
Goldmund, not much inside, but ultra expensive.
To be fair, I must say I’ve never heard their equipment, This is what we call a target rich environment. But you caught me in a good mood. For a while back in the 90’s and 00’s, before I got hooked up and crazy good at figuring out what was what, ...
Subwoofer insight.
Ignore everything millercarbon says. Unless you want your system to sound really, really, crazy good.
Potential subwoofer purchase-a few Q’s
Millercarbon, now you know I use 4 subwoofers but with a smaller system two subs can work fine but two subs is the minimum. I used a two sub system for years until I graduated to line source speakers then two was not enough to match the power ...
Reducing Humming Sound
If the hum is the unit itself physically vibrating that is due to DC offset. The tricky but free fix is to figure out what else is plugged in elsewhere that is causing it. Its tricky because people sometimes find out by accident, other times after...
Power Amplifiers
I had virtually that same amp, right down to the upgrades. Mine was purchased newer (92 or 3 I think) and it is one fine sounding amp. Virtually as good as a good tube amp, which is high praise indeed coming from me. Very hard to beat for the money.
Beware of NAD M3 Fire Hazard
The more time passes the more the first two posts are looking better and better.
3 foot speaker cables, Red Dragon 500 WPC Class D amps to Revel Sub-15s
As Duke said, use hookup wire. Save your money for where it will make a difference. I did compare anyway of course and sure enough, no difference. So I use ordinary speaker wire. https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/8367 Save your money for where ...
what's your opinion on the magazine 'stereo review'??
Julian Hirsch who reviewed all the equipment in Stereo Review said openly that all amps that measure the same, sound the same. Let that sink in. He did more to damage our hobby then help it because of his narrow minded beliefs. Right. Because of t...
