Help! Antiskate with only a weight...no dial, and she's skating away!
Nothing is ever just one thing. Especially not on records. You cannot have any anti-skate of any kind without some sort of mechanism. That mechanism whatever it is necessarily becomes an integral part of the whole cartridge/tone arm/turntable comp...
Raven celeste competitors/alternatives
Wish you could hear my Moabs with my Melody tube amp. You would know you are done! Either a Nighthawk or Blackhawk with either Moab or Double Impacts and you will be in heaven! I would go Moab if you have the room, and Blackhawk if you have the mo...

pinwa- one of the things that is driving me to try vinyl is to see if the records are better than the digital versions. That's from just above.    This is you, pinwa, after hearing my system last September: the midrange/vocal presence is huge. ...
system/room equalized flat from 20 to 20k cps--is yours?
What have you done besides reading reviews and buying what is purported  to be the best to get the holly grail of sound? Nothing. But at least now I know where the scratches came from.
Are Preamplifier’s Relevant Today or just a Hinderance with Digital Playback ?
Don't listen to these guys in_shore, you know the truth, digital has re-written the laws of the universe. Digital has turned pre-amps into an irrelevant hindrance. Good catch.

High quality vinyl
What is the age where kids are always asking, "Why?" They reach a point where they discover this word, and the magical power it has over adults, and it is so wonderful to have this power they just go around asking why why why why why? No matter wh...
Second opinions — how have others (including non-audiophiles) helped you?
I have a sense that many people are much more experienced than mastering92 gives them credit for. Indeed, and for sure. The main difference in my experience is they don't have the vocabulary to express what they are hearing. An awful lot of audio...
Diffuser or absorber behind listening position....and is it worth doing??
My main goal is to improve imaging and stage. There's much more effective ways to do this than room treatments.Do you already have your speakers on Townshend Podiums? Are all your components on Pods? Are your components treated with Synergistic Res...
Help! Antiskate with only a weight...no dial, and she's skating away!
No, the inner notches are less mechanical leverage, less anti-skate. The owner’s manual is right about that. This method is the same as my Origin Live Conqueror, only the attachment points and adjustments differ but it is the same basic design. It...

For cleaning, the best by far is the Walker Enzyme 4 step method. The full kit is expensive but you can buy the refills cheap and then use your own brush, the MoFi brushes are excellent.   Once records are cleaned then unless your home is especial...
attenuation
The knob you are calling a volume knob is in reality an attenuator. The mute or 20dB switch is also an attenuator. Both are really just a resistor. The volume knob is probably a trim pot, short for trim potentiometer, a fancy word for variable res...
Can someone please explain
Takes balls to even mention that one.
Sellers: When do you drop your price?
Minus the 10% paid to us for talking it up, you clear $1170! Pretty good!
Processor question
My experience after trying a whole slew of these things is there is no way to add a processor without your stereo taking a hit. And not some minor hit like you can fix with a better power cord or shelf or whatever either. Like fatal. Like for ever...
