AGD Audion GaN Class D In The House My power should be good. I use Shunyata Triton/Typhon.I am realizing that the distortion problem must be in my TT rig. Woodsong Garrard 301, Triplanar, Miyajima Shalabi and Atma-Sphere MP-1.Could it be mistracking of the cart?Am waiting on a Lyra ...
AGD Audion GaN Class D In The House Has anyone ears the difference between the Audions and the Vivace, Grand Vivace?
What does clipping sound like? I have Tetra 606s. For a long time I pushed them with a 300B SET at 8 watts. Clearly, they wanted more power. Seems like I am pretty confirmed that the scratchy breaking up I hear on swells is clipping.
TANNOY will stop Hi-FI ? The up line Tannoy are truly special. That is, if you like the BBC/British take on music. Some might say “polite”.I was the proud owner of the late Doc Gizmo’s (Harvey Rosenberg)Westminster Royals. Highly modified. They could fill a very large roo...
What do $2500 speaker cables sound like? 1+++++ for Silversmith Fidelium!!!$1200 for an 8’ pair. $175 for bi wire adaptor.I replaced $6K great cables that are now junk. Read that others have replaced $20-$30K cables in $600K and $1 million systems. Fideliums smoke all. They were the bigge...
what system musicians prefer? Do they care? I used to be the only CA dealer for ATC. They are a professional tool used by many musicians, studios and concert halls. But the only Audio company I know that has rave endorsements from many of the world’s foremost musician/audiophiles using them...
Magico compared to Tannoy Hi cantorgale,Are you a cantor? Starting my career also as an opera singer, I considered becoming a cantor.Glad you got the Rockports. At least at shows, Rockports were always the best big speakers. Super real sounding.

What Makes your System Special? Surely everything in a system matters. And it is difficult to name one component as the most significant. But the one piece that my entire system was built around is my Woodsong Garrard 301. I looked for many years for a special used rebuilt 301. W...
Magico compared to Tannoy Don’t think one could choose two speaker lines that are more diametrically opposed. Developed over decades significantly in BBC studios, Tannoy embody the British, BBC natural voice. Magico is a more modern, detailed sound. Having owned the top Ta...
Non-violent, non-misogynistic hip hop for MC I must say that I have a certain amount of pride for opening up this Rap can of worms. The first thread, “Why Rap?” that was removed as were the two that followed, was intended to open up on inquiry into what Rap is interesting from a musical pers...
Speaker cables under 1k used Speaker cables equal to or better than the best-Silversmith Fidelium.$1200 for an 8’ pair. $1000 for 6’.Speaker cables are most important.
Classical music listening... what is a better source High Rez or Vinyl? I used to have a cool Rega RP 1 with a $150 MM cartridge. And a built in phono stage in a Rega Brio integrated.Think your TT rig is much beyond this. For sure, the playback was modest, but the physicality of the needle vibrating in the record grove...
TONE I am outspoken about the issue of “what sounds real”.Our sense of hearing is, perhaps, our most sensitive.I believe that anyone, if not deaf, can instantly hear if a HiFi system sounds real or not. That is, a tone deaf, 90 year old, etc. can easil... |
