Is D for Dry? Class D... I think there is significance in Alberto of AGD being Italian. He surely has special sensibilities regarding a highly attuned musicality. This is reflected in his creations. I have always respected the Italian perspective on art and music... and fo...
Is D for Dry? Class D... AGD Audion is the best amp, regardless of class or price, I have ever heard. Class D using a patented galium nitride module that, unlike other GAN based amps, uses a module designed specifically for audio. All others use GAN used in lidar or batt...
recommended power tube amplifier for vivid kaya 45 speakers IMO, about the best there is is the CAT.
Townshend Audio EDCT Isolda Speaker Cables In 50 years in this hobby, about the most major improvement in SQ came with Silversmith Fidelium speaker cables. Very affordable $1200 for an 8’ pair. I replaced $6K cables that are now junk relatively. I know they have bested $20-30K cables. 30 d...
Torture test for a TT rig! Hi Raul,When I google Miyajima Shilabi 2.3g comes up but now that I open the page it does show the other Miyajima carts as 2.3 and Shilabi as 3.0!Have reset and the problem is solved... thanks to all.Sure happy it is not some more complex issue!
Torture test for a TT rig! Well, last time I checked, the VTA was 2.1g. The recommended is 2.3. Just checked it now, it was down to 1.9!Set it right the 2.3 and the full vocal is almost all better.Set it to 2.5. Will keep it there for now.
What does clipping sound like? Thanks Ralph-good to get the confirmation that my cartridge is a mismatch with the Tri-planar arm. And this must be the reason for the distortion I get on full tones of a vocal.Currently waiting for a Lyra Atlas SL to replace my Miyajima Shalabi.T...
Isoacoustics don’t seem to work for me, help What made a night and day improvement for my speakers are Stillpoints. If you speakers have screw holes on the bottom you can get Stillpoints that screw in. The work well on carpets or hardwood. My speakers are almost 200 lbs and I got away using t...
Did I damage my speakers? I have the exactly described issue on vocals sounding “hazy and sometimes distorted”. This happens on fuller tones. Playing only vinyl, I think the issue is a mismatch between my cartridge and arm.Your problem may be due to dirty power. Maybe...
What does clipping sound like? I have less than 200 hours on my Miyajima Shalabi. Triplanar arm, Woodsong Garrard 301.I am actually hoping that it is a compliance mismatch cart and arm.Just playing 1812 Overture on the cannons the arm jumped off the record and the sound stopped...
What does clipping sound like? I notice this distortion most with vocals. When there is a full tone frequently this break up happens. Hope that it is the compliance mismatch of the cartridge and arm.
At This Time Can We Recreate Full Range Live Music In The Home? As frequently the case, MC says it best. Electrically reproduced music is an art. Art is a vehicle that “comments” on aspects of life. When does Art become Life? When there is a suspension of disbelief. As with a stereo system of a certain quality,...
Your favorite OCC speaker cable You would be hard pressed to find better speakers than Fidelium by Silversmith. I replaced $6000 cables with 8’ of them for $1200.the old cables are now junk.
What does clipping sound like? All TT settings were done with the guidance of Tri. Believe them all to be correct. Think it must be a combination of mistracking and bad, old records.
What does clipping sound like? I think it is mistracking. Miyajima Shalabi wt Triplanar arm. I don’t have this distortion on Netflix, etc.Waiting on a Lyra Atlas SL. Hope that is better. Also distortion on new LPs so not just old, worn record sound. |
