Musings of a Budget Audiophile I believe you should stick to your plan. Don't worry, be happy:). If anything you might keep an eye out for a DAC upgrade. Be in no hurry. I bet your Pathos is a great fit with the Focals. I once own the Classic One MKII. A beautiful piece,...
SET Shootout China VS The USA I really enjoy this thread. Been introduced about many tubes that I have not known existed before and learned things about those familiar with. Compared to many herein I have limited experience with tube amplification having introduced myself to t...
Classic, Cult, Affordable Class A Solid-State Amplifiers: Bedini, Forte, BEL I once own the BEL 1001 MK5. Was made in 2007 two years prior to Mr. Browns death. Never should have sold it.
Vincent integrated amplifiers. I'd be grateful for your experience. I also once own a Vincent integrated. The SV-226MK, a 100wpc model. Loved that amplifier. As big_gred stated it was neutral leaning to the warm side. Produces a great soundstage. What speakers are you driving and in what size room? There is a l...

Best "Bang for the Buck" you have owned? @jjss49 Yes, I figured. As a cure for for those afflected with that 60Hz hum, would have to be 'best bang for under a buck', shockingly so. Hope your holiday season is going well, as well.
Best "Bang for the Buck" you have owned? @jjss49 Thanks! Much of the enjoyment has to do with the B&W 685s which to my ears sound wonderful under the open air environment. I believe the balance between bass and treble is improved. The 100wpc provided by the 701 delivers the volume ...
Best "Bang for the Buck" you have owned? Well I have a secondary system that I set up on the back deck for open air listening. I set it up yesterday as it was 70+ degrees in southern Illinois. I am always impressed with the experience, tuneful, dynamic, great sound stage and imaging. I v...

Devore or Audio Note or other sensitive speakers: wanting to listen in Denver I have heard the Devore O/93s driven by a Line Magnetic 845 amplifier. Loved the presentation. One speaker I would love to hear is the Daedalus Muse. Seems to be a great fit for my room and electronics though at this time not so much so for my w...
DAC w Tube itch: Audio Mirror Yes, there are better DACs having tube output stages than the AM which is priced between $1500 and $2500 depending on internals (mine was $1960) however they come at a much higher price. As always, depends on budget and rest of system.
NAD C316BEE V2/Subwoofer dilemma… The high impedance of the subs internal amplifier allows for use of the NAD speaker outputs for the sub as well as for the main speakers.
Multichannel power amplifers VS 2 channel power amplifiers @deep_333 I was thinking 2-channel for music and multi for video. Why wouldn't a receiver work for the center as well for the rear channels. |
