Would my system benefit from cable upgrades?
+1 riley and soix.  Research options for room treatment. Regarding cable upgrade I would focus toward the interconnects starting between sources and amplifier. Stick with quality copper. Which audioquest speaker cables are you using?
Speaker shootout question -- do you position the same or differently, depending?
So true, one need to have considered all aspects of the room when purchasing equipment. Selection of room drives selection of speakers, which drive selection of amplification,  .....
Seeking advice for speakers for my Family Room
Seek speakers that are on the warm side, somewhat rolled off on the upper octave. Absorption panels need not be expensive. One can even have pictures imprinted on canvas to use as covering over self made panels. Look up ATS Acoustics for DIY mate...
Maggie 1.7i vs 1.7 (what was changed??)
@jjss49 Which of your amplifiers are you using to drive the 1.7is?
China built tube amps
@falconquest The dealer you spoke with seems to me one I would not wish to deal with. I agree with those saying country of origin need not be the only criterion for product selection. I would want US based service facility for non domestic product...
Suggestions for an integrated upgrade please
There is a Pass Int-25 for sale here on AG. Probably could be had for under $5000.
Doesnt resistance mean same as impedance??
I always thought resistance was what is measured as ohms. Impedance included capacitance and inductance. All three combined are considered reactance, and as so impede a signal. Hence the need for the phase angle information when matching equipment...
Recommendation for Digital Coax
Well, I decided to try the cable recommended by soix. Always go with 1.5 M.
Musings of a Budget Audiophile
I believe you should stick to your plan. Don't worry, be happy:).  If anything you might keep an eye out for a DAC upgrade.  Be in no hurry.  I bet your Pathos is a great fit with the Focals. I once own the Classic One MKII.  A beautiful piece,...
SET Shootout China VS The USA
I really enjoy this thread. Been introduced about many tubes that I have not known existed before and learned things about those familiar with. Compared to many herein I have limited experience with tube amplification having introduced myself to t...
Classic, Cult, Affordable Class A Solid-State Amplifiers: Bedini, Forte, BEL
I once own the BEL 1001 MK5. Was made in 2007 two years prior to Mr. Browns death. Never should have sold it.
Vincent integrated amplifiers. I'd be grateful for your experience.
I also once own a Vincent integrated. The SV-226MK,  a 100wpc model. Loved that amplifier. As big_gred stated it was neutral leaning to the warm side. Produces a great soundstage. What speakers are you driving and in what size room?  There is a l...
Need help choosing a new DAC
Congrats on your purchase of the AM Tubadour . I truly enjoy mine.
2022 Audio System Wish List and thoughts about streaming
May get that Node streamer I intended to purchase last year.
Best "Bang for the Buck" you have owned?
@jjss49 Yes, I figured. As a cure for for those afflected with that 60Hz hum, would have to be 'best bang for under a buck', shockingly so. Hope your holiday season is going well, as well.
