Question: Sound Treatment behind the Listener?
I have a 48x56" Rockwool sound absorption panel installed into the wall behind my listening chair. Covered by a print of the Grand Tetons taken at 10,000' .  In another room I was forced to vacate I had a closet the length of the wall behind. I p...
Is the XA25 a realistic option for LRS’s?
@j_andrews  Please keep in mind that I have only played the speaker/amp combo 1 day. I do love the results so far and will keep you informed of further thoughts.  Also can vouch for the XA25/Fritz combo. Also provides great sonics and Fritz speake...
Is the XA25 a realistic option for LRS’s?
I remember the time (60s-70s) when many advise that 50% should be allocated to speakers when considering budget.  Boy do use of Maggies turn that around! I am at 5x amplifier to speakers let alone the preamp cost.
Recommendations for modern integrated with tone & balance controls other than Mcintosh
Sounds like a great way to have both SS and tube amplification at one's disposal.
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
@jjss49 I don't have subs. Maybe give that a try in the future. I own Tannoy Sterlings which are used in our living room system. I also own two pairs of stand mounts, Esoteric MG10s which were my main speakers over the last 10 years, and Fritz Car...

@campoly   @krelldreams  Thanks! I find the Maggies to sound very articulate with the XA-25. Extended highs without grain, wonderful midrange, enough bass in my small room to satisfy, not earth shaking however precise.
I feel it is time to upgrade my 1977 system.......
Given the specs of your speakers you could consider tube based amplification. If interested in that I suggest you look into Aric Audio as one option. Great gear and great guy to work with.  I you went with a tube pre and amp or integrated I would...

OK, you have a TT. Are there other sources under consideration? As by Bob, if your are going to keep your current speakers knowledge as to  their impedance would help. Knowledge of the power capabilities for the Pioneer amplifier would help. Wit...
Is the XA25 a realistic option for LRS’s?
Well I just finished a 5 hour listening session with my newly acquired LSA+ speakers driven by my Pass XA-25. Room has a volume of 15x17x8.5' and well treated. Amp was driven by my Aric Audio tube pre set to a gain of 16-18 dB. The XA-25 has gain...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
Well this is the 1st day with my new LRS+ speakers. I have them mounted with the  Maggie riser stands. Room as described in a post above. I am using my Pass XA-25. System is in a averaged sized bedroom well treated. Driving the amp with my Aric ...
Starting from scratch and say $5000
I agree with you regarding a thread in the speaker topics. ask for recommendations in the ~$2000 range.  Keeping in mind that the easier to drive speakers are often more expensive however save on the cost of amplification.    One stand mount spe...
Starting from scratch and say $5000
Given the additional information: I would look into the latest Bluesound Node as a streamer. $600. Start with the built in DAC and once familiar with the new system consider adding an outboard DAC.
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
Forgot to add that I will get back regarding my findings once I have the experience.
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
@jjss49  Thanks for the FAQ. When I read it I also wondered when it might have been updated as I have read that many Maggie owners have driven them with a modern class D amplifier.  At least the Magnepan people admitted that they have no experien...
VINCENT AUDIO
