Best budget DAC +1 runnin, I have been wondering the same. Another poster asked the same and we haven’t heard back on this. I doubt any of the DACs mentioned would be better than the that in the P5. Different maybe. Would require an additional cable. Which one?
Placement of DAC I would see no problem with doing so. Regarding connection, the general recommendation when the option is available is to use coax over toslink unless you have problem with EMI or RFI. Another general recommendation is to use a coax length of less...

$800 to spend on speakers, $1500 on whole system I agree with you on your thoughts regarding monitors (bookshelves). I also have a smaller room and though my budget is now greater than yours, it wasn’t always so. I still use monitors and am considering implementing subs. Quality bass costs! As ...
best bookshelf speakers for < $2000? +1 ctsooner. Didn’t see your post until after making mine.
best bookshelf speakers for < $2000? I agree with the idea of waiting until you move prior to purchasing speakers. Might even wait on the amp purchase as the amp/speaker interaction is important. The room/speaker interaction is acoustic. The amp/speaker one is electrical and acoustic.

what pre-amps to try I would consider Audible Illusions LS1a as one option. The upgraded (Factory) Jolida Fusion is another. Obviously, there are others. The used market opens greater possibilities.I am currently using a Jolida Fusion with my BEL 1001MK5. I like the ...

When I have seen people listing their systems lately I stream to find new music. Once found I buy the CD. I rip the CD to both a MACBook Pro and MAC Mini as AIFF. ALso have a disc spinner and use it often when not wanting to boot computer. I like to own physical copies, as this is the way I have bou...
should i go with kt150's now or wait a bit?? Sounds like the 150s are the way to go. As Wolf stated i would keep the 120s as a back up set. Also you might want to reinstall the 120s after extended listening to the 150s to best discern the advantages of the latter.
So many variables with audio +1 hew. #s 1, 2, and 3 in particular are very important for those building their 1st system.
$800 to spend on speakers, $1500 on whole system As an update to my last post: The 325BEE remains for sale. The seller is asking $300 plus shipping. You might offer the $300 to include shipping. Underwoodwally is offering the Micro Mega MyDAC for $249. I think this to be a very good DAC that wo...
$800 to spend on speakers, $1500 on whole system I own the NAD 326BEE and think it to be an excellent option given your budget ($550 new retail). I believe there is a used C325BEE for sale here on AG. Buy a used DAC that will accommodate your digital sources (what are they?). Buy used interconne... |
