In line Attenuators with Passive Preamps Thanks George! Exactly my concern. I am certainly interested in the Lightspeed. Yes, a logarithmic approach is what is needed with the gain and sensitivity of the STA200.
In line Attenuators with Passive Preamps Thanks George. I believe the SYS has a input impedance of 10K. In conjunction with the 51K input impedance of my Nuforce STA200, I have a combination having ~8.8K impedance. My source is a PS Audio Digital Link 111 DAC which has SS analog output. ...
Good starter speaker Go to your dealer and listen to power amps and speakers in combination. What is budget for speakers?
Nuforce STA200 George, Yes in the old days (1970) I had a Sansui AU 555 integrated at the heart of my system. 30wpc. Currently I use a BEL 1001MK5. 50wpc. Course the BEL is in a different league entirely in its ability to drive speakers. Mike
Nuforce STA200 Jetter, Thanks. I was not familiar with the Copland pre. Looks to be a fine unit. Aberyclark, Yes we need more info re the blown amp. So far no response to your previous post asking for clarification.
Nuforce STA200 Well, I might just be overly cautious. I need to spend more time with my STA200. I certainly am happy with it's sonics and it seems compatible with my PS Audio Digital Link III via the SYS. In addition to the speakers I mentioned earlier, I also h...
beginner seperate system If you amp/speaker combination satisfies and you want to add tubes to the system then I suggest you purchase a tube amp that is compatible with your amps. I believe most any 2-channel preamp would be superior to usig a AVR as a pre. I currently ru...
Nuforce STA200 Kalali, if my understanding is correct, because the voltage required to reach max output is low, sensitivity is high. Given the output voltage of most sources today, the sensitivity and gain of this amp would call for judicious use of the volume ...
Nuforce STA200 This amp produces no more power into 4 ohms than into 8 ohms.Sensitivity is 0.45V for full output.Gain is 35dB.Very sensitive to source voltage and speaker load. At 51K ohms input impedance and the high input sensitivity a good candidate for a pas...
beginner seperate system Sorry, meant to erase the last two statements leaving only the question.
beginner seperate system Are you looking to replace the NAD amps or just needing a preamp? You have a pair to NAD 275s bridged and a speaker system (Focals and subs). Looking to add to this with a budget of 2K.
Nuforce STA200 It obviously would provide greater options if one was wanting to make a change in speakers. Are you looking to make changes in your current system?
beginner seperate system Why not search for a tube preamp?
Nuforce STA200 I am a fan of 2-way monitors. Most rated at 6-8ohms that I am familiar with have an impedance dip below 4ohms somewhere usually at bass frequencies. I can't help thinking some caution need be applied when using a amp that provides 80wpc at 8ohms a...
In line Attenuators with Passive Preamps Donvito, Yes, the SYS is worthy product at it's cost. I own one and am currently using it. Need not get beyond 10 o'clock position for loudness. Was thinking I might remove so much potenteometer from signal path.I believe I have over thought this ... |
