Solid State Amplifier Advancements In A Decade McIntosh has always been a leader in solid state amplification, and they have moved recently from the double balanced to the much more expensive quad balanced designs. I see them continuing to push the engineering forward for there solid state amp...
Does alcohol impair appreciation of sound? Drinking, makes you turn the volume up a lot higher, than when your not drinking. That just proves it de sensitizes you. Hey that’s why I have Dynaudios...they love to be turned up loud! And let me tell you something .....with a great system it ...
LPS for Musical Phonomena II+ "its a bit irksome that the maker only offers it with a wallwart power supply"That's because they want you to buy the Nova which has re chargeable battery operation, for $1200. Regards,Matt
Integrated Amps - my first good HiFi purchase. It does not seem to me, that you are interested in a tube based integrated? Or am I wrong? If I am, I suggest you look at the Prima Luna Dialogue Premium. Also, Modwright, McIntosh, and the over looked Manley Labs Stingray, are awesome sounding in...
Challenging Turn Table Setup - Help Needed I totally agree with Paraneer. You would do much better going direct from the phono preamp to your 7010's line level inputs. That's why you have a phono pre, so you can use any linestage input. Regards,Matt M
Phono Interconnect Morrow Audio can supply any type of cable and they are not very expensive and sound fantastic.Matt M
Best value in pre-owned preamps right now? Modwright SWL 9.0 is one of the best used deals for a gorgeous sounding tube based pre amp ($1200-$1500).
new Cadenza Blue issue? I would send it back and possibly rethink my cartridge choice. FWIW, the Clear Audio Maestro Ebony v2 that I recently purchased is dead solid perfect whether playing or not. Regards,Matt
Mcintosh MC402, Krell FPB 600 or Passlabs x250.5 Good call , you will love it !Matt
Which stand mount sealers sound great against the Totem Sig 1's can be placed pretty close to a rear wall. Also, Epos makes a new speaker that is great for this as well. Matt
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable I spend my audio dollar mostly on equipment, rather than cables. I buy cables that allow me to feel much more connected to the music, and I dismiss the rest. I use for MY system (made up of all separate components) low to moderately priced cables....
Amplifiers:A Keeper for Life. Do you know of one ? The McIntosh MC352 has to be one of the best deals for anyone lucky enough to have purchased one in the last 10 years. Now, all McIntosh sells are very expensive high power 2 channel amps.
Mcintosh MC402, Krell FPB 600 or Passlabs x250.5 No decision to make. Go with the McIntosh MC402! You will never regret it.
Shopping for speakers at $1500-$2000 is a chore. I would look into finding a used pair of Marten Logan Vantages. This is one hell of a speaker for around $2000 used (depending on finish) they are the best deal on the planet! IMO. You will not be disappointed, give them correct power and great el...
Re-capping A 15 Year Old Solid State Amp These Krell FPB series amps ran class A, very HOT. This is one reason I never went Krell. These amps burn up overtime. Having said that, they would be a incredible bargain in todays hi cost, hi-end audio world we have today. So, I say FIX'em if yo... |
