Woofer pumping WHY?? So, I received a large piece of granite from a good friend. I placed that under the TT and it really helped calm things down. I still get some woofer action, not always. I think it is in the records we play and the only way to really stop it is to...

Help with Turntable/arm/cart decision "I have heard this model on many occasions in different systems and have not seen this problem"Then why are we assuming its the table? Its brand new! I am not convinced, yet. More later.
Help with Turntable/arm/cart decision UPDATE: SO, this is a fairly new table according to needle doctor. Anyway, I mention that only because that's what they told me. The Project Xtension10 uses a 5pin din connector on the TT side and RCA on the other. The DIN connection is hidden dee...
The best speaker you ever heard? I heard a stereo back in the 80's, it consisted of all Cello (made by mark levenson) equipment and 2 huge Cello speakers with granite stands. It pumped out over 4,000 watts a side. Have not seen or heard anything like that since.
Most suitable and effective isolation platform How about a $100 piece of granite or marble (30-50lbs) under the TT?
B&W 800D2 - Bi-amping vs Bi-wiring Anytime you can go to Mono blocks I would recommend it, over bridging or bi amping with stereo amps. Also, do your self a big favor and dump the MIT's for something that dosent rob the impact and life out of your beautiful sound, IMO you will neve...

Woofer pumping WHY?? I don't have much faith in the "higher mass shelf theory" but Its easy for me to test that one. I really think the new Project Xtension 10 is not the problem. All the table has done is push a lot more music through the system than before. Also, ma...
Help with Turntable/arm/cart decision No , I never verified the new table was the problem. Not yet anyway. More to come on this soon. Lewm you are right on track with whats going through my mind as well. I really think I have more than one problem happening here. I will know a lot mor...
Dumb Head Phone Question Also, The Oppo does not have a amplifier inside it to drive headphones. It has a 1/4 inch jack so you can plug a set of headphones into it, but it will not drive a pair of high quality HD700's you need a external headphone amp.
Dumb Head Phone Question First off I will hands down go for the Sennheiser's. Why? Because that's what they do, they make headphones. B&W, they make speakers. Also, you need a headphone amp to drive these HD 700's or don't even bother. They will sound very FORGETTABLE...
Toggle switch cleaning? You just spray the switch in both positions, and work it up and down several times, that should help it a lot. with contact cleaner of course. Air dosent clean switches that are dirty, air blows away dust.
