GP, I think you can still order printed copies of the chart. I have a framed copy on my main listening room wall. Its a work of art in that context to a technical nutcase like me. The interactive version online is even better. It really helps you u...
Are my speakers now the "weak link"?
If you enjoy CDs not vinyl not as much then the phono setup is surely the weak link. Could just mean a tuneup of what you already have. I'd assure what you have is set up optimally fist. Lots of ways to go wrong there with phonos. Getting best pos...

Czar, you might be right about the brainwashing, but I have to admit I pay a premium for many products that I consider to be healthier mainly because they have less of the bad stuff they would have otherwise. Mostly for convenience reasons. ALthou...
Bad idea to use pro Tannoy speakers for home use?
Its as good an idea as using any speakers you like that can be had for the right price. You might want to give them a good cleaning with antiseptic wipes once home. Who knows where they've been? :^)
Db Power Amp - is there a better ripper out there?
Also I wonder if re-installing teh old version alone would have fixed the problem. SOme times files needed get overwritten by other apps and a re-install is all that is needed. I don't think one woudl lose anything much with a reinstall of Dbpower...

Any alternatives to Astell & Kern DAP's?
I'm still trying to figure out why one would buy an Astell & Kern or a Pono? Other than the Astel & KErn do appear to be quality devices albeit specialized ones that are also somewhat pricey, but not so much on the high end audio scale of ...
Opinions on efficient bookshelf speakers 95db?
BEst to read (and listen) also before you buy but also take all specifications with a grain of salt. Does not necessarily mean they are wrong or inaccurate, just limited, usually in a manner that works to the vendor's benefit to attract more custo...

"IOW it may be flat but it may not sound like it."Actually it won't EVER sound flat if in fact it is because the frequency response of human ears is not flat.See the Ear Sensitivity chart here for details and how that affects what we hear when lis...
Modern integrated vs. vintage...what do I get?
I'm listening to my third system which is squeezebox touch to Yamaha cr-420 to Stax Sr-80 pro ear speakers. All somewhat vintage and can be had together for not much and it sounds wonderful.
Building the Audio Note Kit 1 SET amp...
Sounds like digital Pete is the right guy to sort through it all. Then we will know. I am rooting for a happy ending. Once the amp is certified to be doing its thing perfectly as it should, you'll know if it is able to fit the bill with the Decapo...
do players like Foobar improve sound of internet
Also realize that if you start off with a clunker streamer/player, nothing much else you do in a traditional sense to tweak the sound will help much, including a better DAC or connection to source. So there is potential to waste a lot of time and ...

RL,Have you tried them all? With all possible configuration options?Choose your analogy but I can assure you as a software/systems engineer with many years of experience that anything is possible and the specific reasons why there is a difference ...
External Drive Help
I have been running reliably with Seagate external USB drives for a few years now and can easily recommend those. Mine came with decent backup software pre-installed which is a nice bonus.
