Do you let your vinyl rest after playing? I send my vinyl to hot yoga. Yes, warping can be a problem there but it sounds so effortless and relaxed after....
Why are records still warped? I hope quality of new vinyl improves but I would not bet on it. Maybe there are some labels/sources brands that are less problematic than others, perhaps for more of a premium price. Most common retail records I bought back in the day had various f...
Building the Audio Note Kit 1 SET amp... It is great news the issue is finally resolved.Reb, my only other advice is to make sure to not place the amp near anything that might be generating a strong magnetic field as a precaution. If teh transformers had become magnetized, one explanation...
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz "it's always interesting reading how different people have different perceptions on similar topics"That's for sure. As long as the listeners are human, perceptions are one part of the equation that can never be factored out. That's what helps make...
Input sensitivity, Gain and Preamp matching Active pre-amp would be the safe bet, even more so with a tube or SET amp, but each active pre-amp will impart a sonic signature of some sort. That's just a fact. So if teh goal is to keep that out of teh equation just don't overpay on the passive...
Tube amps with Apogee Scintilla's your thoughts ? One of those things that sounds risky on paper but might still be interesting to try. Anything is possible anywhere from sounding quite good to damaging the amp. I would not expect it to be the best possible technical pairing on paper possible tho...
Why are records still warped? Because records are one of the most inherently flawed yet still loved inventions of all time.Next time you are on a rollercoaster, pretend the track is the groove and that you are the stylus trying to track it.See what I mean? :^)Actually riding a...
Is my preamp useless? Its good advice to take the cables out of the "how things sound " equation as Atmasphere recommends. Its one less thing to have to worry about in getting everything to play optimally together.
Recommendation for a 300b Integrated amp My advice is to listen to Almarg. :^)
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz "Mapman, I read you last post over and over but it still made no sense."Oh well. At least I tried. What don't you understand about it? I'd be happy to try and shed some light.
Is my preamp useless? An active pre-amp plays a big part in how a system sounds. It serves as an analog signal processor in a sense in that how all sources used actually sound are affected. So if you like the sound you gotta give the pre-amp some credit for that. The opt...
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz dd no and no. My system is posted. It sounds very good to me. it's 734.5% better than March 30 1978.
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz I will assume it sounds very very good to you and most likely would to me as well given the investments in both time and money that have been put into it. So would most systems in these parts where others have made similar investments in the inter...
3/3/2015 Another San Francisco Smash and grab The game of survival is a dilemma. No one theory or solution is likely to resolve it fully. Too many conflicting factors including human nature. Is a game of give and take.
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz Tbg,I would like to hear but have no doubt it sounds very good. One could argue that those things are heard on most good systems although never exactly the same way on any two. Personal preferences are of course a factor. That's why you can't know ... |
