I would not know how a router alone could change sound quality unless streaming software would be designed to drop to lower resolution to maintain a stream with a weaker connection rather than stop and rebuffer.  I suppose it's possible but have n...

Mobile and portable devices like iPhones play music and doing quite well. Younger generations on don't just sit and listen to music as much anymore. Still plenty of of good gear on the market though.   Just not great for sellers though it sounds.

If the goal is to pull in more stations clearer the ticket is to use an fm tuner known for high sensitivity (and noise rejection). Tandberg used to be my favorite but many better vintage tuners were quite sensitive and are worth a look if assured ...
