What are the best speakers you have ever owned and why?
Still the Ohm F5 series 3 with 12" driver and 4 3 way level adjustments to tune to room.     The music sounds real, not like recordings.
Reggie Young is Gone
I was just once again admiring, as I always have, the guitar work in "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis Presley on Saturday, wondering who that was playing.Next day I heard about Reggie Young’s death on Tom Cole’s always wonderful G-Strings program Sunda...
The invention of measurements and perception
Yup. That’s what pays the bills. But I’m considering nonsense as a career now too, just like you. Does it pay well? You are very good at it!  You must rake in the dough!
Have you ever wondered why speaker manufactures do not consign speakers to dealers?
Yes, stereos are so 1950s.....

Speaking of problems....
The invention of measurements and perception
Audiophiles do seem to often have a fondness for problems.  Sometimes its just never good enough.  Some will make it a hobby forever seeking better sound, never quite sure of what the actual target is.   Most are smarter and figure it out or don't...

One often has to travel to be able to experience expensive boutique products. Nothing special about home audio there. It goes with the turf. These days smart vendors focus on facilitating in-home demos or audition periods. Always better to hear th...

The invention of measurements and perception
Careful, the value of some products totally vanishes in lieu of perception. Perception can be 100% of the battle. GK is right about this one. No wonder his pants are on fire about this.
Whats playing on your system today?
Camel’s style and personnel evolved and changed considerably over the years. The only constant is guitarist Andrew Latimer, one of those guys who just always knows how to play the right notes the right way and has always surrounded himself with to...

Whats your take on a NAD 3020, I truly believe it defined stereo and still does!
I had similar 7020 receiver as a backup for many years. Picked it up in an alabama pawn shop in 1986. Unique somewhat dark and warm sound. Very solid pre-amp. COuld be used as pre-amp, power amp, receiver or tuner. VEry versatile! Also did a respe...
