Slam possible with Tubes instead of SS ??
I am very tolerant of many different flavors of system sound, but I have very low tolerance for noise of any kind.If I put my ear up to the speaker and hear anything other than silence when the system is on even if only at higher than normal volum...
Why Don't More People Love Audio?
Macro,Its true that some people (not many) don't even like ice cream. Some are even allergic. Many more are just prone to seeking enjoyment elsewhere.Cheers, Merry Xmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year and whatever other flavors of celebration I may ...

"It's not that difficult to get high quality sound."I agree. But there are many flavors of high quality sound.I think what people struggle with more is getting the right flavor for them. Some flavors are more popular than others. Some are more esoter...

"Either they throw away dynamics, detail, and resolution but coax out a sweet tonal balance with much of the warmth of analog.Or, they get resolution, drive and dynamics but the upper mid and high frequencies drive me from the room."When I run my ...
How a turntable is like a gym membership
Phaelon,I've heard modern reference RTR, vinyl and CD recently in a well set up SOTA system in virtually ideal conditions. The RTR was in a class of its own. Both vinyl and digital sounded very good also but once the RTR played, the difference was a...

Human ears (and brains)are complex sensors and information processors of an order far exceeding science or technologies ability to model exactly.Given this truth, any hypothesis regarding being able to accurately predict the outcome of an individu...
When is digital going to get the soul of music?
"When is digital going to get the soul of music?"For me in my house, its got it today. Not to say it is perfect (nothing is), but close enough most of the time which cuts it for me.
