"God Bless the Child" on Idol?
I think the show did a better job overall coaching the rookie contestants in a more consistent manner week to week that yielded better results in the end, ie a large group of talented rookie singers delivering at a pretty high and consistent level...
Review: Tube Audio Design Hibachi Monoblocks TAD 125 Amplifier
after some initial time listening to the tads i can say without doubt these amps can really sort through and deliver the music and represent a steal for their going price. everything i throw at them sounds very "musical". There is a natural ease t...
"God Bless the Child" on Idol?
"content that makes it difficult to watch for 20 and ups"Not so much for women or even men with wives and kids.I probably would not watch if not for them, but I enjoy watching it with them. Its one of the only shows we all sit down and watch toget...
how close in sound can a tube and ss amp sound ?
I think Unsound, Timlub and I are hitting on the same point that there are many difficult load speakers as Timlub describes that few if any tube amps can handle properly. The result is tonal imbalance and often weak bass regardless of volume/loudn...
Pink Floyd
No doubt Deadheads are a special breed!
Why not horns?
Back on the positive note regarding horns, I just picked up a pair of TAD 125 Hibachi 2 monoblocks that I am acclimating to in my 2 channel a/v system currently.I suspect these are probably the first amps I have owned that would seem to be overtly...
Why not horns?
I am not sensitive at all about negativity, except if delivered in a malicious manner. Its a fact of life that there is probably nothing that is immune from being disliked, even Scotty McCreary. Its a slippery slope to do anything that discourages ...
how close in sound can a tube and ss amp sound ?
To sum it up, for me, the best tube amps I have heard are the ones that sound more like SS and the best SS amps are the ones that sound more like tubes.Luckily there are some companies and products out there of both ilks that do a pretty good job ...
Pink Floyd
"I've had the Pink Floyd library in hi-rez for decades. It's called vinyl."Another reason why I suspect these releases are targeting younger, newer PF fans ( a much bigger and I suspect profitable target audience) and not aging audiophiles to whom...
What is my next step to a better sound ?
The thing that bothers me about the Rdac is the name. It seems to be designed to capitalize on Arcam's use of the highly acclaimed DCS ring dac technology in one or two of their legacy devices, but that is not what is used in the rDac. Their web s...
Why not horns?
WOw, shouty all caps in a horn thread. That's sure to not be very popular here! Horn lovers can be quite sensitive!
"God Bless the Child" on Idol?
Scotty Too Hotty, warp 10......NOW!
Pink Floyd
Ironically, Pink Floyd will probably live on for a long time like the Beatles in that they have a core set of compositions that will continue to appeal to new youths over time while the aging original fans lose interest somewhat compared to other ...
how close in sound can a tube and ss amp sound ?
"Can we agree that it takes a 150 watt SS amp to duplicate a 75 watt tube amp?" In terms of listenable volume, often the case, but there are some soft clipping SS amps that might not fit this mold as much as most. Also a 75 watt SS amp may be more ...
"God Bless the Child" on Idol?
I thought Tyler's comment about Lauren winning a round because she was prettier was hilarious but also quite insightful perhaps in that it really is mostly a popularity contest at this point more so than who is better or the best. Or as Dwayne "Th...
