Ultimate stereo nightmare
@rvpiano    I hope it works out for you
Bose 901 series with and ipod.
The OP asked about BT in his original post. I am assuming the iPod in question does Bluetooth.  If it doesn’t, then I don’t think you can use it as a source.  If it does Bluetooth then you need amplification and a Bluetooth receiver.  A basic int...
Best digital format (non streaming)
@kraftwerkturbo    I listen exclusively to Classical and would be willing to help you, but aren't you putting the cart before the horse?  For me the music is the thing and gear is meant to reproduce it.  I wouldn't however, change my listening t...
My PerfectWave dac is working!
You have narrowed the problem down to the amplification, so if I was you I would forget trying to tweak the DAC.  So lets talk about the amps    Do you still have the previous integrated amp that you used?  If so try connecting the pre amp of the...
upgrade player or use modified oppo bdp 105 as transport
I use my 105 as a transport into a Bryston DAC 3.  I use the HDMI output for SACD Blu Ray and DVD-A, and the coax for Red book, although Redbook plays over the HDMI as well.  I have a DSP (SHM Mini) connected to my DAC for Redbook but cant do so...
Jean Sibelius Recordings
@designsfx    I haven't listened to that recording of Kullervo because I don't like the music, having tried a few prior recordings.  You do realize that in Classical Music there tend to be multiple recordings by different performers of the same ...
Audio gear, sonic quality when you listen in less (or non-) focused ways
OP left out sitting in traffic next to a car that is 80% subwoofer in weight and no one else being able to hear anything else for about a mile
Ultimate stereo nightmare
I feel the OP pain.  Just had to spend half an hour reconnecting bare copper wire to a binding post, after my cleaning lady Womanhandled my speakers into submission in the relentless quest to fight dust.  Had to fight a Forest of cables and my own...
Jean Sibelius Recordings
Actually, no. The above is a recording of an early Sibelius work, one that he withdrew after publishing. It’s kind of like The Beatles with Tony Sheridan album. Kullervo has its fans but I’m not among them. If you are new to Sibelius I recommend e...
My PerfectWave dac is working!
Do you have a friend or relative who has a working system that would let you bring the DAC over and see if it works there?
Jeff Beck - passes away
I remember Rod Stewart doing knee bends with the mike and trying to look interested during Beck’s half hour solos.  I thought Beck got more interesting as a musician later in his career.  He could sure play the slide
Can I connect multiple sources to an external DAC
I think it's all been covered, but it doesn't matter that the DAC gas only one output to the preamp.  You can connect multiple digital sources to a DAC, but only play one of them at a time
Digital source & management dilema
There are a whole bunch of DACs that can also function as preamp.  They should all be compatible with BlueOS (that is an issue for the streamer, not the DAC or the pre amp).  Mytek and Benchmark are two companies that I am familiar with but there ...
Jean Sibelius Recordings
Yeah, the first two symphonies are great works, but for me they became over familiar as I played them to death and didn't move on with Sibelius for a couple of decades.  The First is an outstanding First Symphony filled with great music.  The Coli...
Jean Sibelius Recordings
I haven’t gotten around to listening to Rattle yet.  The reviews have been mixed, with the British Critics offering their predictable raves and elsewhere some dissent. The newer Sibelius that I have been comparing is Makela vs Rouvali.   Berglund...
