Took the lithium ion battery plunge
The fan issue makes this a nonstarter for me.

I like the Cambridge CXN so much I bought a second for another system.  It works great with Qobuz.  I can’t answer the iTunes question
BlueOS Changes Coming?
Usb is harder to implement and in many DACs it can be the weak link.  It will be interesting if at their price point the Bluesound products will have usb that is commensurate with their other digital outs.
A Skeptics Digital Upgrade Journey
I am not totally sold on digital cables mattering that much.  I like to go 1 or 2 levels above basic computer stock, such as the Audioquest offerings or what might be available on Audio Advisor.  My one experience hearing some ultra expensive digi...
If someone handed you this system, what would you change?
I have a mini DSP that I like, but it does kind of tie you to the sweet spot, which isn’t a problem in my relatively small room.  Regarding your setup, I agree it’s the amplification that I would change.  Have you considered adding tubes to your s...
Turntables
I got the Technics a few months ago and it would meet all of his requirements except cost
Absolute Sound's "Reviews"
@liamowen      I really don’t like Fremer’s persona as a reviewer, but I have to say that I can’t assess his talent evaluating products because most of what he reviews is so pricey

@jbuhl  don’t know about the BOT 1 power cord.  Why do you ask?
Absolute Sound's "Reviews"
I stopped reading them years ago, and never looked at the site.  What are they doing in the print magazine?
I feel bad for Generation X and The Millennial's
Part of the valuation of music was having to pay for it.  I remember trying to decide how much money I wanted to spend from my after school jobs and having to make choices.  I was taken aback when file sharing started and kids were outraged at the...
13.2, 5.1 and so on. "the best seat in the house"
A lot depends upon the recording.  Some Multichannel mixes are done vey well, with just a bit of reflection in the rears with a significant gain in ambience.  Try the Pittsburgh Symphony Brahms cycle led by Marek Janowski on the Pentatone label. ...
Streaming – Discovering Similar or New Music
I really dislike the streaming service throwing music at me unasked according to algorithm.  I prefer the services that have a tab saying “select new music” as opposed to just doing it automatically

I am very conscious of the copyright issue.  When CDs first came out I started making cassettes for personal use.  I then tried mailing one to a friend of mine who plays with the New York Philharmonic, among other organizations and with whom I dis...

+1 @onhwy61    I checked with a copyright lawyer before I started burning CDs.  As long as I don’t sell or broadcast or make copies off my HD, it’s all legal.  So I guess we are better than parasites, (un)clearthinker
Mcintosh MCD-12000
I totally agree with the  previous posters and only you can decide value for money.  If you are Jeff Bezos and really need those meters, it’s a bargain.  If you make $20K a year and are planning on heisting an ATM to finance the purchase, then pro...
