Need DAC/Streaming Advice
Thanks for posting that, mgrifIn the past, I didn’t think that there was much difference between Bluesound as a transport when I compared it with my Oppo 105 and my MacAir using Audirvana + when all played into the same DAC.  They didn’t sound ide...

I haven’t picked up the BDP3-just got an email from the shop today saying it arrived.is the Tidal app on your computer, or on theBDP-2?  Or do you access it it as a direct link from Manic Moose?btw, Bryston has a users forum, you may want to scope...

Jonkay sorry to hear about your Bluesound problems.  Did you try a different streamer?

Puppy  I’ll be interested in your take on comparing the Manic Moose app versus the BlueOS.  I know that Bipolar Bison (sorry) is supposed to be a weak spot with the Bryston Players and I might be asking Austinbob above for suggestions when I get t...
Chord Dave Replacement
How much is the least expensive dCS DAC?
Is now a good time to buy a pre-owned DAC?
The devil is in the details...which DAC, what price, etc.  I bought a Mytek Manhatten I 3 years ago when it was under a year old for 80% of the original price and just sold it for about 55% of what I Paid and really enjoyed it for that time.  I co...

Uber, I don’t think a Vault is going to be big enough to hold his 6000 CD collection, unless he does MP3.  I think a NAS with a Node 2i will work better, especially since he can use the NAS with his Bryston.  Today I couldn’t get a peep out of Blu...

Puppy, my recommendation would be that if you have purchased just a Node 2i and are thinking about purchasing a Vault or Vault2i is don’t purchase the Vault but save that money for a NAS.  You can plug the NAS directly into the Bryston (I’m wonder...

OPFor my sake, I am hoping that your Bryston experience is an outlier.  I use Ethernet so hopefully that will help.So Puppy, you say you purchased a Node 2i, but then you ask how long it will take to rip a CD to the Vault.  I am confused as to wha...
Audirvana Plus vs Roon - High Sound Quality at Lower Cost?
I do run Audirvana on my PC.  However, I prefer not to use my PC in my Audio System, and that is why I use renderers instead of the PC with Audirvana.I have been using Bluesound, but recently I had a problem where I could not use it for a month.  ...
Another OPPO 205 Question
Can you just transfer the music files on the XP to a separate HD? HDs are cheap, and the 205 should be able to read an attached HD  (my 105 does). How many files is it?  I think my old XP hard drive topped out at 100GB

Depends on the rest of your system.  If it is reasonably resolving, I would say yes, it’s worth an external DAC
Considering a Node2i, what else should I be looking at?
The Node2i is a pretty sweet sounding piece.  There are some reliability issues, generally related to their frequent updates.  It definitely sounds better with an external DAC.  In the same price range it appears as though companies such as Pionee...
Audirvana Plus vs Roon - High Sound Quality at Lower Cost?
I think Audirvana Plus is outstanding.  I did a brief free Roon trial after installing Audirvana and thought Roon degraded the sound subtly.  My problem is that I don’t want my PC in the system, as I prefer to use it for computing.  After I turn o...
High resolution digital is dead. The best DAC's killed it.
Redbook indeed is at a new stage of awesomeness.  High Rez will not die because:1) it’s marketed at Audiophiles, and we are always looking for tat sonic holy grail.  The general public could care less.2) while not all high Rez recordings are true ...
