Newbie questions - Seeking a streamer with the right features - I'm confused!
You can stream to remote speakers via Bluetooth or AirPlay.I am unclear if the "remote" speakers are going to be in a different roomas your main listening area or a different room.  I am also unclear if you need to be streaming to your main speake...
Have New L.K.S. HM-DA9038 with Oppo95 won't play SACD's, HDMI input on DAC is for 12S data
@melm   My Bryston DAC 3 is the DAC for all my digital sources: Oppo 105, Sony 5400 ES SACD Player (a refugee from another system in the house), Bluesound Vault2,a MacBook Air, a Bryston BDP3 streamer (Bluesound will exit as soon as Bryston adds Q...
Bluesound Node 2i Question
OPclear as mud, huh?  Both of the above responses are correct, even though they seem contradictory.  Are you using Wi Fi, or Ethernet? And are you using Bluetooth or Airplay?
Have New L.K.S. HM-DA9038 with Oppo95 won't play SACD's, HDMI input on DAC is for 12S data
I play SACDs from my Oppo 105 into my Bryston DAC3, which has 4 HDMI inputs.  The Oppo is set to send DSD from SACD into the DAC over HDMI.NAD also makes a DAC with true HDMI inputs for about half the cost of the Bryston.
newbie seeks advice
You might want to start with a Class D amp, because they can output a lot of power for relatively small cash outlay, and are relatively small and don't generate much heat..  There isa lot of controversy here, as in every audio topic, about the qua...
Qobuz on Bluesound in the U.S.?
I had lots of trouble registering.  I finally created another email address and was able to register through that.  The tab on the Bluesound app also worked
Best solution to send digital files to my DAC
Rbstenhoif you read my post above, you might see why a NAS is the choice for some people.  Some of us live with significant others who may have other uses for a server, or may wish to access the server from different locations.
Newbie - Streaming Recommendations
The Node2 is a good choice.  I had some problems with the Bluesound multiroom deal, but I’m using it now to demo Qobuz, which the OP may want to investigate along with Tidal.  If you go with Bluesound, I suggest starting with one unit only, and us...
Qobuz.
Just started my trial today.  Compared to the last time I perused Tidal, there seems to be a lot more Classical available, not to mention better organized
Does Qobuz Work With Apple Airplay?
It definitely works with Bluetooth
My personal review and experience with Arcam AVR 550 with Dirac Live
Audio Consultants has closed all of their Chicago stores except Evanston.  I used to deal with the Hinsdale Store but when that closed changed to downtown, and now that is closed.  Neither of the latter two did any in house repairs
Best solution to send digital files to my DAC
for the OP, servers can usually be accessed by other people on the network.  For example, I have a Synology NAS (Network Associated Storage) that is connected to my router.  My music systems are in other rooms, each one having a streamer that is c...
Streamer/DAC combo or stand alone DAC with Node2?
I just added a Bryston BDP3 to my two channel System.  So far listening playing it over usb into my Bryston DAC3, it’s killing Bluesound sonically via toslink into the same DAC
My personal review and experience with Arcam AVR 550 with Dirac Live
As a Chicagoan, I’ll heed your suggestion.  What kind of a warranty did the Arcam have?  Lasting less than 2 years is really poor performance; I have a 20 year old Pioneer ES in my basement system that’s going strong.  I recently replaced a 9 year...
Need a new universal transport
Btw, in your original post, you were inquiring about a ‘Universal ‘ player.  That term usually means Blu Ray, SACD, and DVD-A capability.  Since the Marantz does none of these, I assume that you don’t need these features?
