Is break in quicker with Planars and Stats?
Sounds plausible!
Krell KAV400 VS Musical Fidelity A300 A 3.2 A3.5
I have never owned either, but one Minor point. The Krell runs pretty warm...hot even. I listened for about an hour at the local emporium. The Krell was hooked to Magnepan 3.6r speakers, 4ohm and I don't know how bad an actual load. Within 20 minu...

Yes, There ARE real reasons for most cables to sound....different. Measureables such as capacitance and resistance are associated with either HF rolloff or loss of bass control...IE, reduced damping factor.I use all Beldon / fabricated by Bluejean...
What is equal to the Rega Apollo for less money?
I too, have had CA issues. 1st one delievered DOA, the dealer fixed it by putting something mechanical back in place. I didn't want it back. The 2nd ALSO delivered DOA (can you believe it?) had a ribbon cable edge connector raised about 2mm at one ...
Is break in quicker with Planars and Stats?
I've had 2 pair of Maggies.Original MG-1s rebuilt at the 20 year old mark were very different upon return and needed months at my modest listening schedule to return to 'normal'.There replacement, some 1.6s were weird! I was sitting listening afte...
"Audiophile" Printer - But Interfering with AC?
Any way to drop a dedicated line and keep the stereo seperated from this bad boy? What is the max service to the house?

That may be worth a try....Bridge a fuse with a nice piece of 12ga or 10ga copper......In the old days, many a house fire was started by a lunatic who stuck a coin in the fuse box. The REAL problem was somewhere else. One last note....In Real Scie...

Sorry, musicnoise, you have entered a NO SCIENCE zone.Opinions and feelings are all that count.BUT, in defense of the no-science crowd, MANY of them HAVE driven Hi-End by stuff they could hear and nobody else could. Engineers and Technicians have ...

Pubul57 has it pretty much down to basics. For any 2-way test, the basic chances of a choice being right is 50:50. There is some more match to it, like levels of significance, but that is the basic idea.

Running off to work, BUT...I agree, at first glance with Audiofeil.I hear what I want to hear, just like my car runs better after a washjob or an oil change. How else could the 'rocks' get positive reviews? These discussions verge on religion, a pl...

I have one of each...Norah and Grace. (nightclubbing, one cut of which made it to a Harrison Ford movie)...name it for 10 bonus points.I suggest we drop this line. People have many ingrained prejudi. I don't understand the strawman reference of a ...

Concerned with an I-Pod cable in a car? It's gotta be me. Even the Maybach I looked at didn't have a stereo good enough to warrant a massive cable upgrade especially when listening to MP-3s.....I've never been a 'critical listening in the car' kind...
How would you run an audio salon?
I am lucky enough to have 2 local hi-end stores. Both are very good. One specializes in HT installs but has a thriving business in Hi-end. Everything from Pass Labs and Mac on down to some NAD and Cambridge Audio. I nearly bought a McCormack DNA f...
