Chris' latest cables. @dave_bĀ Oops, you've stepped in it now! š There can be only one opinion here! š Thanks.
Chris' latest cables. @steaksterĀ Ā Nice, but VH Audio is at the upper end of my tolerance for cable cost. I purchased what I needed to make a few different cables in order to save a couple of bucks after my initial purchase. Ā
Chris' latest cables. @shooter41 Ā The Spectrum cables. They were $200 more a pair, not an easy price to pay. I've never heard his Spectrum cables, so unfortunately I am unable to say what, if any, difference they made in my system. IĀ rather doubt that the Spectrum ...
Chris' latest cables. @lalitkĀ Ā Thanks, perhaps I shouldn't respond, but I am not good at letting logical fallacies stand. You are correct that the proper response would have simply been TROLL.
ODAM capacitors. @andirocks If you scroll down you'll see the board right below the 6DJ8 board. Mind you, the 6DJ8 board is a big improvement over the stock Dynaco board in and of itself. Roy really knows his electronics, but he doesn't seem to me to be the tinke...
Chris' latest cables. @fatdaddy2Ā Which definition are you using in your ad hominem abusive? I'd hate to be guilty of a strawman argument. The fact is that after Don Sachs praised Ice Age Audio's IC, over the Duelund ICs he had been promoting, I figured that I'd try s...
Chris' latest cables. @mbolekĀ I have ordered all new cables from him. I was always narrow focused on his capacitors in the past, I never really paid much attention to the rest of his offerings, obviously a big mistake. I should have all the cables made up over the we...
ODAM capacitors. @andirocksĀ Ā I hope you got the octal board. With better caps, and the Linlai E-6SN7 tubes you can't get much better, unless you buy Don Sach's amp. His is built upon the same kit, but he blows it up with premium parts, and big improvements to ...
Chris' latest cables. @t_rameyĀ He isn't selling them formally as yet, so you'll have to ask, unless you want to make your own, he is selling the wire and connectors. He uses a cable burner before he ships, so your home made versions will need some burn in time. Like ...
Chris' latest cables. Actually there is a reason I didn't. I hit edit, but it doesn't allow me to edit, it refreshes the page, but doesn't allow editing. I'll try another browser, but this isn't the life altering issue to me that it seems to be for others. Had I realiz...
Chris' latest cables. Isn't it though? He's conscientious. Obviously I need to actually read the spell checkers suggestion before I tap on it to type faster. š Proofreading is for the timid! Lol
Cable recommandations Hi @hauseraĀ Don Sachs was using a Dueland Western Electric alike cable in his gear, but has switched over to Ice Age Audio's IC cable. You can use 12 or 16 gage Dueland tin clad copper for speaker cables. I have just ordered Crhis VenHaus' IC, a...
Is an isolation transformer better than a power conditioner? You may no need either. You equipments power supply can generally clean up AC, so if you have no line noise that is often in frequency ranges power supplies are not designed to filter, special power conditioning and cables may not do much for you....
Why are people paying these stupid tube prices? Wow, I own a DS2 preamp, a Levinson 27.5 amp, and I own Schiit headphone amps, one has Siemens tubes, the other a E-6SN7, with good Focal headphones these cheap Schiit amps are pretty formidable in sound quality. The E-6SN7 tubed amp is the best, ...
Don Sachs Owners Thread @aldnorabĀ I really have forgotten my formulas, but no, Don installed .47uf caps for a 50ohm load, and 1uf for a 100k ohm input amp. Then there's this; Ā https://hyperelectronic.net/wiki/capacitor/capacitor-impedance/ Ā The chart they show... |
