The Wilt Chamberlain of Audio Gear ** condosound - I’m just having fun with it, trying out different combos & enjoying the process, not that I need to try out different things. As I mentioned above, tube gear is my preference and when I have it, I’m generally a lot more satisfi...
The Wilt Chamberlain of Audio Gear hilde45 - it’s 2021, it’s a very confusing time; maybe we want to identify as sluts and whores? :)
The Wilt Chamberlain of Audio Gear Thank you all for weighing in here; I got a really good laugh reading your comments. :)To expand on my listening preferences, I’m a tube guy at heart but I think SS, and in particular, British shoe box sized integrated amps can be so cool that I ...
What are the sexiest components ever made? I think small components are great looking, like those shoe box sized British integrated amps. The Meridian stuff was always great looking, also dig that Italian designed triangular shaped Yamaha cassette deck and Nakamichi made one as well. The...

Help for an Old School Audiophile It is a time capsule, for sure. Russ, thanks for the advice, I’m getting that inclination as well as I just acquired a rare Ariston RD80SL turntable and have been enjoying spinning records again.

Help for an Old School Audiophile Hi Mark,I have no idea, I’m too old school to answer this question. I hope someone else who is reading this can answer your question. That sounds like a nice system you have, hope you can get some guidance here.
Warm, rich but detailed SS preamp (made you give up tubes) Museatex AVC1, beautiful spatial quality to it. I’ve had many different tube & SS combinations over nearly 40 years in this hobby, and if you don’t want a tube preamp, then try to find one of these. I’m sure there are many other SS preamps t...

Thank you all for the comments, political and apolitical, it has opened my eyes to things that I don’t think that much about.I owned an Audio Space EL84 mini int amp that was awesome and an EL34 GemTune GS-01 that was also very good that was proba...
Which tubes are the best? The Psvane KT88 supposed to be very good, but I’ve heard the Gold Lion are the best KT88’s. The best 12ax7 is a 5751, that’s why cj always specs them in their preamps.
